tion. Once racing continued green,
Kressley led unchallenged.
The Roadrunner division entertained
the crowd with an exciting main event.
Ed Kuperavage and Marc Berzowski
were early race leaders. Joey Zvorsky
started ninth and stormed into the race
lead on a lap four restart. Zvorsky held
off a hard charging group of competitors
for countless laps.
Grandview Speedway – The 20-lap main event for the late
Bechtelsville, PA
Saturday, April 18 - It was the kind of
finish that had fans going home talking to
themselves as Kevin Hirthler was able to
hold off the strong challenges of Jeff
Strunk and Duane Howard to win the 30-
lap modified stock car feature. Meme
DeSantis (Temple) was waiting patiently
for someone to make a mistake which
never happened and he had to settle for
fourth after starting 14th. The strongest
effort of the night may have come from
six time track champion Craig
VonDohren (Boyertown) who had to go
to the pits very early in the feature for tire
problems. A quick fix and he was back
out and restarting last. He came home to
finish fifth.
Past champion Randy Stoudt was able
to top Kyle Merkel in a chase for the vic-
tory in the 20-lap late model feature race.
Once in front the Pottstown racer was
able to hold off Kyle Merkel and Ron
Kline to grab the victory with the TP
Trailers/Cheers Tavern No. 118.
Merkel (Gilbertsville) came home
second followed by Ron Kline
(Salfordville), Mike Kellner (Lansdale)
and Danny Snyder (Green Lane).
Defending champion Chuck Schutz
dropped out of the feature with mechani-
cal issues while Brian Shuey, winner of
the opening night feature, spun while
making a charge toward the front and had
to settle for a 15th place finish.

Grandview Speedway on Saturday night.
VonDohren (Boyertown) took com-
mand after a restart and created a little of
his own excitement riding to a narrow
victory over Duane Howard (Oley) who
was in another Chad Sinon owned BPG
Racing entry. Third place was earned by
Tom Umbenhauer (Richland) followed
by last week’s feature winner Kevin
Hirthler (Boyertown) and seven time
track champion Jeff Strunk (Mohnton).
Hirthler came from 16th starting spot
while Strunk came from 14th.

second win of the season. At the 12 lap
mark Brian Shuey was able to charge to
the front and that is where he stayed for
the balance of the feature earning his sec-
ond win of the season. Second spot went
to young Danny Snyder (East Greenville)
followed by Mike Kellner (Lansdale),
Chuck Schutz (Pottstown) and Ron Kline
(Salfordville).
Saturday, May 02, 2009 - For the first
time since September, 2005 Ray
Swinehart was able to return to victory
lane at Grandview Speedway winning
the 30-lap National Earth Services
NASCAR Whelen modified stock car
feature race. The win for Swinehart
(Bechtelsville) was his first at Grandview
since he picked up $20,000 for winning
the BPG Racing Freedom 76 in 2005.
Brad Missimer was able to get by
Bobby Gunther Walsh on a restart after a
caution on the 8th lap. Once in front the
young racer looked like was going to be
able to hold the top spot until the finish.
Missimer was able to hold off the
challengers after a few caution restarts
but on the 26th lap he caught a rut in turn
two that moved him out of the groove
challenger Swinehart got under him and
out power him to get first spot.
Billy Pauch Jr. was able to get by
Missimer in the closing laps and put
some pressure on Swinehart but his
efforts fell short as he was forced to set-
tle for second. Missimer (Bechtelsville)
