their own definition and the process writing style to write a good academic essay. I often heard question like how do you write? or is there a particular way to write good? To me I dont think the writer have to follow a certain rules to writing because it depend on what type of writing, who is the audience, and the mood of the writer. But I do believe that there are some aspects that the write have to consider before he/she begins to write. Some of those aspects are brainstorming, organization, and form, structure, editing and revising. Brainstorming is a group or individual creative solving problem tool. Brainstorming helps one to see how well he/she understands the subject. It also provides a free and open environment that encourages everyone to participate. There are many ways that people could brainstorming like free writing, just pen and paper, jot down all thought that come in their mind. I usually brainstorm by mapping it out in the paper. Depend on my topic and my audience; I break down my topic into little pieces because its usually easier to write something when I break it into smaller bites. That way I can expand my idea and tackle just one bite at a time. Also I usually choose a comfortable place to sit and think in order to get the most out of my brainstorming session. I try to minimize the distractions so that I can focus on the problem at hand. Brainstorming makes the subject easy to understand, remember, and it help communicate the complex information. It also helps me to prevent of going off the topic and keep me on track. After I finish the brainstorming, the next step is knows its organization, form, and structure.

Bon Jrang 2 I was learned in high school that the standard essay structure is five paragraphs beginning with an introductory paragraph, three bodies, and a conclusion. But after discuss in class I learned that is only partly correct. An essay can be as long as it needs it to be in order to express or argue the ideas. But a standard form of an essay has the introduction, body, and conclusion. The introduction is always the first paragraph of the essay. It is an important paragraph because it is the first impression that he/she can make with his/her readers. It begins with a general overview of the subject, followed by a precise statement that explains ones ultimate intent and how it will be built upon in the body. The introduction need to be short and concise thesis statement, offer the goal of the paper and engage the readers so that they will want to continue to read the rest of the essay. The introduction provides the reader with a "map" of where the essay is going, and of what it will cover. Body paragraphs are the meat of the essay. It will include the topics and the arguments of each point in his/her thesis statement. Furthermore, each body paragraph should focus on a particular point that he/she is making in support of the main idea. He/she will go further detail, using evidence, experiment, or other means to argue each point in his/her thesis is to provide information that supports the main idea or thesis of the essay as a whole. The last paragraph is the conclusion. This is the last chance for the writer has to persuade his/her readers to his/her point of view, to impress himself/herself upon the reader as a writer and thinker. And the impression that he/she create in his/her conclusion will shape the impression that stays with his/her readers after they've finished the essay. In this paragraph, he/she should restate his/her thesis and wrap up the argument. After he/she finish writing the essay, its important to revise and edit his/her work. Good revision and editing can transform a mediocre first draft into an excellent final paper. Revising is to ask questions, expanding ideas and challenging arguments which require discussion between

Bon Jrang 3 the writer and the reader. This may involve moving or removing entire paragraphs, extending or narrowing ideas, rewriting vague or confusing text, and adding to existing paragraphs. During the process of writing, he/she may not catch the entire mistake that he/she made; either about the grammar, sentence structure, or the logical of his/her sentence. Editing is on a sentence level, addressing problems with spelling, grammar, punctuation, or word choice. Make sure each sentence has the subject and the subjects and verbs agree with each other. Check the verb tenses of each sentence and make sure that each sentence makes sense. Now as technology is growing, spelling errors are not as prevalent as they may have once been. The most common program is Microsoft Word; it often checked the grammar or the vocabulary error. However, most programs can only assume what he/she was intending to spell, and may end up creating the wrong word from his/her spelling. At school I was taught that when I finish my essay, wait awhile and look it again. The Roman poet Horace thought one should wait nine years, but thats a bit much. I usually leave it for a day or two, then print it out and re-read it. This way most likely I will find my own mistake that I made. Its not a bad idea to let my friend to read it and comment on after I have finished it. I ask them to see if my sentences make sense and flow freely, does my body paragraph convers all the point that I tried to make, what I need to do to make it better, etc If I feel the suggestion from my friend is correct then I will substitute for that part. Their suggestion not always correct but its nice to see others point of view, it may helpful. Its rarely I ask teacher to revise my paper unless it is required. There are many ways to write a good academic essay. Based on the topic and subject will determine the way for the writer to organize his/her paper. Brainstorming is a powerful but simple step to generate ideas, and to come up with creative solutions to problems. The essay structure helps to organize and keep the essay in order.
