The target of the fund is young people within the age bracket of 18 to 35 years who number 13 million. The fund was then transformed into a State Corporation on 11th May 2007. What Is Your Offer: The on-lending component of the Fund mainly works through Financial Intermediaries such as banks, Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs), and Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs). The youth will access funds directly either as individuals or as organized entities such as groups, cooperatives, companies among others. Features 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. The loan targets all forms of youth owned enterprises whether individual, companies, groups, cooperatives or otherwise; Loan is accessible to any youth owned enterprise operating within the district; The loan is managed by Financial Intermediaries; The loan attracts interest rate of 8% per annum Very flexible (soft), if any, collateral required; The loan amount is dependent on the nature of business proposed and the lending terms of the Financial Intermediary; Financial Intermediary seeks approval for loan amount exceeding Ksh. 500,000

Who Is Your Offer Targeting: Applicant must be Kenyan youth aged 18 to 35 years; How to respond to offer: Application must for either starting or expanding business; Applicant must have identification details such as business registration certificates or personal identification papers such as National Identity Card or passport; The applicant must have a bank account preferable to the preferred Financial Intermediary; The applicant collects loan application form from Preferred Financial Intermediary; Submit the loan application form or self-prepared business proposal to the preferred Financial Intermediary; The preferred Financial Intermediary carries out the assessment of the proposed business to establish financial viability and other relevant technical matters; Attendance of training programme, if required; Verification by the District Youth Officer when sought for by Financial Intermediary; The repayment period and amount is as agreed with the Financial Intermediary.
