UUFW News Meals on Wheels update: The first half of 2013

To date, we have served 1621 meals in 2013. We pack and deliver about 31 meals in four routes each Wednesday and Friday over the North Waco area. Meals on Wheels is struggling with financial cutbacks. Most of their funding comes from Federal & State grants. These grants have become smaller and more scarce or disappeared altogether. If you have the opportunity to help them, please do so. To meet their financial goals, the group has scaled back the number of meals that they provide to the needy in Waco. The 1621 meals we've served thus far is 440 fewer meals than the same period in 2012, and the number of clients served in 2012 was less than 2011. Many thanks to the drivers and subs that help get those meals out to serve our neighbors.

Doctor Who & UU: A UU Summer Camp Experience. July 8-12

Its finally here! Next week is our summer camp! Doctor Who and UU is an experience
that will take us back in time via the good doctors TARDIS to visit historical UUs and examine their qualities that demonstrate our UU principles. We cant wait for the lessons, the laughter, and the fun to begin! Thank you to all who have been so generous to volunteer your time, effort, and funds to help us make this idea a reality.
