Phonics This is a short week for phonics, and I only see them once. We are going to do the "an" sound family words quickly, to make sure everyone can write the words. We are also going to start our new booklet: "My fun filled Phonics book - Listening, Writing, Vocabulary". We are going to practise to listen for the initial sounds of words and identify that sound with a letter.

Review Students review the vocab from the previous week and also practise asking the question "what is this?" and replying "this is a/an...." Practise writing their names down and also focus on making corrections to writing errors. The "an" sound family words and the sightwords we have done so far "go, no, on, in"

Notes / parent follow up: Encourage your child to speak English as much as possible. Make sure they do so clearly and loudly. Help your child to practise introductions and greetings in English. Please practise phonics with your child. This is very important and one can never have too much practise with this. Also it can be good to make your child aware of the different sounds in words.
