His newest project is Sit Down, Servant!! Accompanied by Stephane Beaudin on drums, Sit Down, Servant!! combines blues and gospel with dub in a very unique way. Johnson sings and plays guitar along with his Moog bass pedals to produce a rousing set of boot-stomping tunes. Sit Down, Servant!! is an excellent introduction to another side of Gordie Johnson. Every guitar player in Canada wants this gig, says Johnson. Satriani sets a high bar in terms of musical excellence, so it will be a daunting (but inspiring!) challenge to play on the same stage before him every night. Joe Satriani is a rock guitar superstar with thirteen landmark solo studio recordings that have changed the landscape of six-string-oriented music. His latest effort, Unstoppable Momentum, debuted on the Billboard Top 200 chart at #42, making this Satrianis highest chart debut in over twenty years. Satch nails it on 14th solo sweep! Classic Rock
If you have ever admired the work of Joe Satriani in the past then this is the album you cannot afford to miss, whilst if you are new to this unassailable master of his craft then this is the perfect introduction it is glorious. Sonic Abuse UK To celebrate the release of his 14th solo studio album, Satriani is set to embark on a much anticipated world tour, which will include a Canadian leg in the Fall of 2013. Joining him on the road is Mike Keneally (Frank Zappa, Steve Vai) on keyboards, along with a new rhythm section featuring bassist Bryan Beller (Dethklok, Dweezil Zappa) and drummer Marco Minnemann (Adrian Belew, Steve Wilson). For two decades, Satriani has traveled the world, playing to sold-out crowds as both a headliner and as founder of the all-star G3 guitar extravaganza. His studio and live recordings have sold more than ten million copies worldwide and of his many solo albums, two have been certified platinum and four have been certified gold. His side project, Chickenfoot, featuring former Van Halen front man Sammy Hagar, former bassist Michael Anthony, and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith saw their debut album reach gold status and their second album debut at #9.
