Set induction (5 minutes)

Teacher shows pictures of children with varities skin colours (fair, dark, and blue).

T/A : pictures of children with different skin colour.

Teacher asks what is the picture about Eg: Who have seen all of these skin colours? Who have seen people with blue skin colour? Note: -To trigger pupils interest using the picture of a blue people

Pre Reading (10 minutes) Teacher writes 3 book titles on the blackboard and flashes the book cover. Teacher asks pupils to guess and match the suitable title based on the picture of the book cover. After getting the correct tilte of the book, teacher erases the other two tittle. Teacher asks whether any of the pupils have read the story. While Reading (20 minutes) Teacher asks pupils to predict the based on the picture on every page starting on page 1. After predicting what the story is about on that particular page, pupils will do chain reading. Teacher calls upon one pupil to read one sentence. That pupil will call another pupil to continue reading. Note : -Predicting the story first based on the pictures let the pupils to have better understanding when reading the story. T/A : story book Note: - Lead pupils into the topic. -The matching activity is to check pupils readiness to learn the story. T/A : book cover

The steps above are repeated until page 5.

Teacher corrects any mispronunciation immediately.

Post Reading (15 minutes) Teacher distributes worksheet to the pupils. In the worksheet, pupils have to write the correct sequence of the story at the timeline. The summary of the story from page 1 to page 5 are given in scrambled sentences.

Note: -Sequencing the the story enable teacher to check pupils understanding. - the timeline is a different way for pupils to sequence the plot of the story.

Closure (5 mins)

Pupils play the puzzle games. Teacher prepares another set of pictures which has similar images from the book.

The activity is interesting to wrap up a reading lesson and double check the pupils understanding and also allows pupils to remember the plot of the story better.

Pupils volunteer to paste the pieces of puzzle to form pictures. Pupils arrange the pictures according to the plot.
