TERMS OF USE -----------Please read ALL of the following information regarding the terms of use for the brushes found on Brushes.echoica.net and Echoica.net before you continue on to u se any of the brushes or brush packages. Language translations for these terms of use should be available soon. All of the Adobe Photoshop Brushes on Echoica.net and Brushes.echoica.net were cr eated by me, Michelle MacLean, in Adobe Photoshop 5.5. Echoica.net brushes are c opyright protected. These brushes are free for you to download and use on compu ter-generated graphics for personal use (non-commerical use) so long as you do n ot distribute the brushes by any means or claim the brushes to be of your own cr eation. More specific information can be found below regarding distribution, al teration, providing credit, gifts, and commericial use.

PROVIDING CREDIT ---------------These brushes are what is considered 'linkware', not 'freeware'. In other words, if you use these brushes on computer-generated graphics for a non-commercial (p ersonal) website and these graphics are to be publicly displayed on the internet or otherwise (for example, on layout design graphics, linking banners/buttons, awards, or digital art) then you must provide an easy to find link back to Echoi ca.net or Brushes.echoica.net to provide credit to me, Michelle MacLean for the creation of those brushes used on the graphics (for more information regarding t he use of Echoica.net brushes on graphics specifically designed for commerical w ebsites or products scroll further down this page). On printed materials, credi t should be provided on the item in an easy to find location. This credit shoul d specify that the brushes used on those materials were created by Echoica.net a

nd Michelle MacLean. Again, If you do use my brushes on materials (graphics, po sters, or otherwise) and they will be displayed publicly on the internet or othe rwise you MUST give credit to me. This can be done by stating and providing info rmation to the viewer regarding where he/she may find the brushes used. I suggest that you create a folder on your computer called 'Echoica' before down loading any of the brushes on this site so that you are less inclined to forget where they may have came from when you go to use them on your graphics. Consequ ently, save the brushes in the Echoica named folder.

ALTERATION ---------The original form of these brushes as they are found in each brush package shoul d not be altered or edited in any way. By alteration or editing I mean that the y should not be changed, redefined, and saved as another package other than the original packeage that was downloaded from this site. Altering the look of the brushes on your graphics is acceptable.

GIFTS & FREE GRAPHICS --------------------These brushes are NOT to be used for free graphics on 'free graphic' sites. By this I mean a site in which the website owner uses the brushes on graphics and t hen distributes those graphics to other people. This will not be tolerated in a ny way. It is acceptable however to use them on SMALL graphical gifts and award s of a personal nature that are given to an individual other than the owner of t he crediting site. If you want to ensure that you are abiding by these terms of use as it regards the aforementioned information do not hesitate to contact me and ask for clarification. If you want to negotiate some sort of terms for a 'f ree graphic' site then you must make correspondance with me. Some exceptions ma y be made but only with my explicit permission.

DISTRIBUTION -----------These brushes are NOT to be distributed in whole or in part in any way other the n on Echoica.net by myself, Michelle MacLean.

COMMERCIAL USE -------------If you belong to a commercial organization and you want to use these brushes for commercial graphic use, on printed materials, or for commercial distribution pu rposes you must contact me first to find out how you may obtain such permission. Under such circumstances these brushes will no longer be 'linkware'. Under su ch circumstances, they will then become purchaseable products.

FINAL WORDS ----------All individuals, groups, or organizations found to be using Echoica.net brushes in an inappropriate manner or in a way other then what has been outlined above W ILL be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. HOW TO USE THE BRUSHES: ----------------------Download the .ZIP file (note that you will need an unzipping utility such as Win zip to extract the .ABR brush file). After you have saved the file, unzip it and send it to the directory containing your brush files for Photoshop. This directory can usually be found through one of the following paths: C:\Program Files\Adobe\PhotoShop\Goodies\Brushes\ Open the program. To load the brushes you click on the brush tab and then the sm all side-ways triangle beside it. Under this menu you will find "Load brushes... ". Once you click on this it will bring up a dialog box where you can double cli ck the ABR brush file of your choice. The brushes will now appear under the brus h tab. I receive numerous emails regarding this process and to answer all of them would be very time consuming. Due to the limited amount of time that I do NOT have to respond to all of these emails I ask you to please refrain from emailing me abo ut Photoshop (or Paintshop). If you are still unsure about how to load the brush es or have any other questions about this process, please consult the help file for your program.
