Distance-based Adjacency Creation
Module Objectives
At the end of this module the trainee should be able to: Use predefined rules to fill missing adjacencies and fix constraints Run distance-based adjacency generation with Optimizer Check adjacency optimization results
Prerequisites
Invalid adjacencies have been fixed Antennas defined for every cell Forbidden Constraints have been created Adjacency templates have been created for each object type Template assignment rules have been created
Adjacency Constraints
mandatory constraint forbidden constraint
Constraints are global in the actuals
Remember to delete unnecessary constraints
Constraint creation: - manually - importing from a CSV file List All Adjacency Constraints to Browser:
Tools->Adjacency optimization
Rules
Optimizer rules can be used to fill missing bidirectional and same site adjacencies and mandatory constraints Mandatory constraint should always have an adjacency Forbidden constraint should NOT have an adjacency Same site cells should always have mutual adjacencies All adjacencies should be bidirectional One rule is used to delete existing adjacencies with forbidden constraint Resulting correction plan can be used also for distance-based creation
Selecting Rules
Use bidirectional optimization option in Common tool view must be selected to use Create bidirectionality rule
Common Parameters
Create bidirectionality is recommended Both ADJW and ADJG types need to be in the scope for this Changes should be enabled between the scope and buffer area Minimum and maximum adjacency list lengths can be modified In GSM optimization the user can define band-specific list length limitations Go to Creation parameters
Creation Parameters
Open parameters For All Adjacency Types and select options Enable creation for each adjacency type separately Initial selection of types limits the available choices here Adjacency type specific creation parameters
In typical Adjacency optimization plan NO collisions are allowed Existing collisions prevent creation of the same type adjacencies for the cell -> Allow collisions to create new adjacencies
Theta Angle
Angle measurement starts from the line connecting the sites Measurement always to shortest route Theta angle:
=+
Cell 1 Cell 2
Results Summary
Creation Priority
Adjacencies to be created or deleted are in the order of importance based on the distance and theta angle Distance and theta angle can be adjusted for the next round of optimization Manually created adjacencies in the same plan are included in this list
Saving Results
Save your results to a plan Data is saved to the plan that was originally open when the Adjacency optimization tool was started If no plan was open in Adjacency optimization startup (Actual Context) then a new plan must be created by pressing the Save button
Exercise
Choose optimization scope and start adjacency optimization Check common parameters Select Creation parameters for all and selected types Run distance based creation for your scope Check the results in Adjacency Browser and run again if needed
Changing Template 1
In Browser the adjacency template can be changed Parameter values changed automatically
Changing Template 2
Templates can be created and modified in CM Editor New templates become visible in Optimizer after Refresh action in Options->Template Assignment Rules
Exercise
Choose optimization scope and start adjacency optimization Check common parameters Run distance-based creation for your scope List created adjacencies to the Browser and check parameters Check and change template to all created adjacencies List a cell to the Browser and create a profile that allows you to see different types of incoming and outgoing adjacencies
Summary
Distance-based adjacency creation can be used to correct conflicting or missing adjacency definitions for mass creation of WCDMA adjacencies Summary workflow for the distance-based adjacency optimization Save the results into the plan and continue results verification the Browser and Map
