of Val Staccato (Carlos Miranda, September 19th) The Musician, Guitarist, Composer and Music Producer of Instrumental New Age Rock back to his childhood in Peru. Influenced by all kinds of musical genres: Classical, Blues, Flamenco, Heavy Metal, Hindi, Exotic, Hard Rock, Electronic...and Peruvian Music. When I was a kid, my older brother used to come home with all these 70's and 80's Heavy Rock albums," remembers Staccato. We hadnt heard anything like Rainbow or Van Halen. Its Ritchie Blackmore and Eddie Van Halens guitar playing, why I learned to start playing the guitar, only to find out Yngwie Malmsteen or Joe Satriani, among others. And there are elements of those records, and what I felt when I listened to those records, that still underlie everything I do.
Val Staccato
A naturally gifted musician, his guitar playing quickly progressed and became a creative outlet for him during his teenage years. His music, instrumental, melodic, rocker but always inspiring, has navigated through a wide range of the musical spectrum, expressing himself in any of the musical palettes, always adopting these musical languages to his own style of emotion and musical aesthetics. Staccato describes his music work as thus: Its a musical journey, a little Malmsteen-esque meets Kitaro meets Joe Satriani meets Vangelis meets Steve Vai.. The blend of the guitar virtuosity and New Age elements with Andean melodies, makes a unique style, its just reflected in their debut album, , a solid effort, this record may come as a pleasant surprise to those who arent more familiar with Staccatos musical work.
Impressed with how his first album turned out, achieving a level of musicality that will establishes to him as a composer of note. Staccato already
kicks off in mid-August and runs until midDecember, he has just announced a string of selected live performances in the following weeks. Where will carry their music with a profound message of spiritual and personal development to more people. If you have a chance to catch Val Staccato in concert you owe it to yourself to go. The show, the music and the people are experiences that you won't soon forget.
Staccato takes stagnating genre of virtuoso guitar instrumentals and breathes new life into it by incorporating various new elements. And he proves to be a very good composer and arranger, too. The composition skills shown on this album are non less than excellent. His extreme melodic sensibility is very evident. Once you have listened to this album a few times, you begin to feel Staccato's personality. You can hear always brilliant musical ideas scattered throughout.
Is a straight forward offering with a Instrumental New Age Rock vibe, its a very solid album, contains great playing and great melodies. Believer, ignites this disc with an upbeat catchy rock fusion track that has a real Yngwie Malmsteen meets Peruvian Andean Music groove to it. No Bounds, offers us a well constructed rocker that incorporates all of Val's playing style. All That Heaven
Sends,
It's a slow mellow number with obvious Kitaro or Vangelis music influences, it has an almost ambient/new age type of vibe. Lucky
Star,
is a haunting ballad style number that combines all the flavor & melodic feeling of the late 80's but with a modern tone. Chasing
Dreams,
can best be best described as Joe Satriani meets Steve Vai, it's laced from start to finish with amazing guitar technique and killer tone. From beginning to end, this album creates a mood and transports you to a place where all music is life.
