Job Description Account Coordinator The Account Coordinator is responsible for providing support to his/her assigned team.

This includes, but is not limited to, media tracking and list building, Internet research, copy editing, crafting materials, and general office and client support. Other tasks may include coordinating event logistics, conducting pitch calls and other media outreach activities, developing data bases, coordinating mailings and assembling press packets, training kits or other materials. The Account Coordinator reports directly to the Vice President or Senior Vice President that leads his/her assigned team, but may also be assigned tasks by other members of the team or by Spitfires president or managing director. Account coordinators oversee interns and may occasionally be asked to oversee the work of a temporary consultant. As with all members of the Spitfire team, Account Coordinators must follow the policies described in the Spitfire handbook, attend all internal meetings, and conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times while working to instill a positive work environment at the firm. A successful account coordinator shows proficiency in completing the following activities. Internal Relationships Proactively contribute ideas to projects Regularly make recommendations to project lead on how to improve a project Work with project/team lead to effectively complete scope of work so that it is top quality but also within the terms of the contract Seek help from project manager or team lead if overall workload exceeds regular work week and work with team to determine solution Attend classes or trainings and present summary to staff Consistently demonstrate ability to successfully move into problem-solving mode whenever challenges or concerns arise Work well with and demonstrate respect for colleagues at all levels and consistently contribute to a positive work environment. External Relationships Make successful pitch calls Compile media clips for clients and regularly identify opportunities for clients to strengthen their position by responding to select clips Coordinate event logistics, proactively thinking through all pieces of an event and taking first pass at presenting team lead with best recommended action plan for facilitating a seamless event Represent Spitfire at industry or skill specific meetings or conferences Communication and Process Craft client memos that, with minimal edits by account lead, can be forwarded to client Take notes at planning meetings that project lead can turn into outline for communications plan Actively participate in internal client brainstorming sessions by offering ideas for each project Create PowerPoint presentations according to Spitfire rules

Understand basics of Smart Chart and develop case studies using the Smart Chart that are incorporated into training or other capacity building programs Develop databases Craft media audits that can be included in communications plans Create media lists that demonstrate a solid understanding of the media as well as understanding of the clients issue and how it is to be positioned in the media Follow AP and Spitfire Style guides Create work plans Consistently meet project deadlines as set by team lead Other duties as assigned.

Financial and Administrative Submit expense reimbursement forms as appropriate Submit vacation/leave requests as appropriate Qualifications Must have a bachelors degree and 6-12 months full-time office experience, internship or other relevant experience. Other qualifications include: Knowledge of current events; Excellent oral and written communications skills; Proven ability to meet deadlines, juggle multiple projects and work independently in a fast-paced office; Expertise in using MS Office software and Internet research tools (knowledge of LexisNexis and Bacons Media Source a plus); and A demonstrated interest in helping to promote positive social change.
