Bind/cast off from RS Cast on - continental method Chain stitch (ch) Crochet border Decrease - sl1, K1, psso Decrease K2tog (knit 2 together) Edge stitches in garter Garter on a few sts (back and forth) Garter stitch Knit (K) - continental Knit (K) - US/UK method Marking thread (MT) Purl (P) - continental Purl (P) - Norwegian method Purl (P) - US/UK method Shoulder seam Single crochet, sc (US) / Double crochet , dc (UK) Slip stitch (sl st) GARTER ST (in the round on circular needle): * K 1 round and P 1 round *, repeat from *-*. 1 ridge = 2 rounds. GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K. DECREASE TIP: Dec 1 st as follows: 2 sts before marker: Slip 1 st as if to K, K 1, psso. After marker: K 2 tog. MEASURING TIP: Place piece flat when measuring. ---------------------------------------------------------PONCHO: Work front and back piece separately back and forth on circular needle until after vent in the sides. FRONT PIECE: Cast on 136-144-153 sts on circular needle size 5 mm / US 8 with 2 strands Alpaca Boucl. Switch to 1 strand and work 1 RIDGE in garter st - see explanation above - back and forth on circular needle. Continue in stockinette st back and forth but work 1 st in each side in garter st. REMEMBER THE GAUGE! When piece measures 15 cm / 6'', put piece aside. BACK PIECE: Cast on and work as front piece. BODY: Slip front and back piece on to same circular needle size 5 mm / US 8 = 272-288-306 sts. Insert 1 marker in each side in the transitions between back piece and front piece and in the middle on back piece and front piece (= approx. 68-72-76 sts between each marker). Continue in stockinette st over all sts while AT THE SAME TIME dec on each side of markers in each side and mid front and mid back (i.e. 8 sts dec per dec) - see DECREASE TIP: Dec every 2 cm / 3/4'' 14-15-16 times, then dec every cm / " 6-7-8 times = 112-112-114 sts. Switch to a shorter circular needle when no of sts are too few to go around the long circular needle. When piece measures 49-52-55 cm / 19 1/4"-20"-21", dec 14 sts evenly (= 98-98-100 sts), repeat dec when piece measures 54-57-60 cm / 21 1/4"-22"-23" = 84-84-86 sts remain. Continue in stockinette st until piece measures 59-62-65 cm / 23 1/4"-24"-25" - see MEASURING TIP above. HOOD: Switch to 1 strand Puddel and circular needle size 7 mm / US 10.75. K1 round and AT THE SAME TIME dec 11-4-0 sts evenly = 73-80-86 sts. P1 round. Then divide the piece as follows: bind off the middle 3 sts mid front = 70-77-83 sts. Now work piece back and forth. Work in stockinette st with 6 sts in garter st in each side until hood measures 35-36-37 cm / 13 3/4"-14 1/4"-14". K2 rows on all sts. Bind off.

ASSEMBLY: Place the hood double and sew it tog at the top. CROCHET EDGE: Work an edge with hook size 6 mm / J/10 with Puddel at the bottom of poncho and up in the vent in both sides.
