Faithful Citizenship Quote

"The Holy Father speaks of the protection of life as the fundamental realization and respect for human rights. Without that realization, without that respect for the right to life, no other discussion of human rights can continue; it must be based upon the foundation of human dignity and the right to life." Cardinal Renato Martino, President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, Vatican City

Peters Pence Collection

Today we support the Holy Father in his charitable works. The Peters Pence Collection is taken up worldwide to support the most disadvantaged: victims of war, oppression, and natural disaster and others in need of emergency assistance. Be a pilgrim of charityplease be generous in todays Collection.

Carpeting Replacement
The carpeting on the main floor of St. Marys church has served the parish well for 30 years, but is overdue for replacement. In preparation for replacement, a number of parishioners have been asked to assist in choosing new carpeting. Arts Furniture has given us an estimate of $9100 to replace all carpeting on the main floor, including the sanctuary and entrance. Any contributions to defray the expense of replacement will be greatly appreciated!

Confessions: Satur days 4 - 5 p.m., 1/2 hour before daily Mass (Mon.- Fri.) or by appointment Anointing of the Sick: Please contact Fr . Cor y as soon as possible for anointing.

Baptism: Normally celebrated at Sunday Mass. Parental sessions are required. Marriages: Six month couple pr epar ation per iod required. Please contact Fr. Cory before scheduling marriage date.

Mass Intentions
As Catholics, we have a long tradition of having Masses celebrated for those we wish to offer up in prayer. The Mass is the ultimate form of prayer, and each Mass is celebrated for an intention. Please consider having Masses celebrated for family and friends on special occasions and anniversaries, as well as those who are in need of prayers. Masses are also encouraged in memory of those loved ones who have died, especially on the anniversaries of their deaths. Contact Fr. Cory for more information! Follow us on Facebook and Twi er! Please join us at the next meeting of the RCIA team, which will be held on Wednesday, July 10th at 7:00 PM in St. Marys basement.

Stewardship and Development

Stewardship Thought: In St. Lukes Gospel today, Jesus commissions and sends 72 laborers into the field the world to drive out evil and spread the Good News, akin to the Harvest-Master sending workers into His harvest. Upon their return, these disciples rejoice for what they have accomplished in His name. Christian stewards are called through Baptism to cultivate the Lords vineyard, and to produce good fruit. In accepting this call, we become a new creation in Gods love to serve the Church and our neighbor in need. Development Thought: God built into the human heart an innate desire to give! And when we give, we like to know that our donations are used for the purpose we give them. When giving to our parish or to support our diocese, you can trust your intent will always be honored. And importantly, you can have the blessed assurance that your gift is being utilized for the highest purpose possible to actively build the Kingdom of God right here at home.

CD of the Month Club

If we are to be followers of Jesus Christ, we need to be continually learning about the faith and growing spiritually. Catechesis, the process of Faith education, doesnt stop at Confirmation or High School graduation, but is a life-long process. To aid in this process, the parish is making available the Lighthouse Catholic Media CD of the Month Club. Every month, a new talk or audiobook excerpt is released. Not only is the current months CD available - Prove it God! and He did by Patty Schneier - but a number of previous months CDs can be picked up as well. Each CD averages about 1 hour long, and is filled with great Catholic teaching, uplifting stories, and excellent speakers. Theyre great in the car, working around home, or anywhere you have a CD player! Theyre also excellent resources whenever someone has a question about a teaching of the Catholic Faith. If you or someone you know wants to learn more about the Catholic Faith, or if questions come up, pick one up today!
