Intercede with Us for the Muslim World!

28 June 2013

I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me; I was found by those who did not seek me (Isa 65:1) Pray that the Lord will reveal himself through dreams and visions; many Muslims have found Him in this way.*

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students and Alumni

SENEGAL: A student asks us to pray concerning two needs. (1) Last year, a young man accepted Jesus. This student gave him a place to stay at the Bible school and discipled him for 6 months. However, the man's family had taken his wife and child from him and cut off all support. He was also under pressure from marabouts (religious leaders) and eventually decided to return home. He has since returned to Islam. Pray that the Holy Spirit will remind him of the Truth he has known and draw him back to Jesus. Pray for his family as well, that they may find the Lord. (2) This case illustrates the need for churches to establish centers where new believers can live and be discipled in their faith. Please pray that God will provide good locations and resources, as well as the right people to direct such centers. CAMEROON: This past March we prayed for the Lord's intervention concerning a government document commanding that churches should no longer ask for tithes and that all the governors should make sure that the decree is implemented, doing a quick follow-up to make sure churches do not collect tithes in church. We praise God for answered prayer. Within 2 months the minister apologized publicly and rescinded the order, citing a misunderstanding.

In the News
IRAN: Iran's elections on 14 June were peaceful, and the moderate candidate, Hassan Rouhani, was the clear winner. However, Rouhani was approved by the Ayatollah Khamenei, and it is likely that little will change. Already 6 more Christians have received prison sentences. Naghmeh Abedini, wife of imprisoned Pastor Saeed, asks for prayer with these words: My prayer is that the people of Iran will not once again put their hope in a president to fix everything...but that the people of Iran would discover Jesus Christ who can truly bring the peace and joy that they are looking for through forgiveness of sin and reconciliation with God. From Global Initiative**

Pray for Muslims in Turkmenistan, which is currently the most closed country in Central Asia. The Turkmen practice a more mystical folk Islam that includes the worship of ancestors and the use of charms and amulets. There are perhaps 1,000 evangelical believers in the country. Non-Muslims, even members of the approved Russian Orthodox church, are pressured to convert to Islam. Pray that God's Spirit will reveal himself to those who truly seek Him. Pray for the Christians there, that they would grow ever stronger in their faith and in love. See also http://bit.ly/11RhzzP.

For Muslim Women***

Please pray for the Church in Europe as it embraces the Muslims that God sends its way, for the sake of reaching them with the gospel. Please pray in particular that the Church will understand the urgency of deliberate outreach to the Muslim women whom God makes their new neighbors.
