Improving people's living conditions - something the Eppendorf company was already committed when it was founded over 60 years ago. Since then we have grown from a regionally oriented producer of equipment to a global player. Innovation, technical advances and up-to-date technologies on the one hand, and a tried and true moral concept and fair handling with each other on the other hand, form the basis for this development. In this brochure we hope to not only give you a glance at our products and services, but also to enthuse you about the Eppendorf corporate group, our mission and our goals. We want to understand life. The more we unlock the principles and processes of life, the greater the possibilities to effectively improve the quality of life of the world population. The first big step was simply hybridization and breeding of plants and animals. Humanity profits from this through intensified agriculture and productive livestock husbandry. Along with new biological insights, continually increasing medical research also contributes to keeping many people healthy longer or returning them to health. Using the development of life sciences and the use of new technologies in the pharmaceutical research and medical diagnostics, people today are in the act of understanding the basics of life. Diseases such as aids, cancer or malaria can be fought more effectively and also the nutritional situation will be improved in the future for a large part of the world's population. Eppendorf technology and expertise support and accompany the life sciences of the 21st century in all disciplines. In this way we understand life and can make it more livable for everyone.

Dr. Gang Wang completed his doctorate in 1998 in molecular and cellular biology at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. From 1999 to 2005 he worked in postdoctoral work and later as assistant researcher at the Molecular Biology Institute of the University of California, Los Angeles. Afterwards he was appointed to the "Hundred Talent Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences at the Shanghai Institute for Biochemistry and Cell Biology. Here he was the manager of the Mediator Complex and Eukaryotic Gene Regulation Group.

We at Eppendorf
Dr. Bernd Petersen is the department manager of assembly and has worked since 2002 at Eppendorf Instrumente GmbH. The strong identification with the company, which has developed in those who work at Eppendorf creates a very cooperative atmosphere. There exists here a personal responsibility for the success of the company and this motivates us every day to be more efficient and to react flexibly to things which are new. This is the only way we, here at the Hamburg location, can continue to be competitive. Dr. Martin Armbrecht has worked since 2004 as application specialist at Eppendorf AG. Eppendorf stands for stability and constantly premium quality. Apart from the positive numbers, which means for all employees an acknowledgement of their work, there is also here a tradition of the work force in their association with each other. They have a feeling of stability and have their feet on the ground.
My Y Lam is an international purchaser and has worked since 2005 at Eppendorf Liquid Handling GmbH. It really motivates me to see that my work bears fruit and that everything functions better in the end. We profit greatly from the decades of experience of some colleagues, but team ability and helpfulness always belong to the company culture.
Berrit Hoff is coordinator in Marketing Support and has worked in Eppendorf AG since 1986. Eppendorf has grown significantly in recent years and that means for us, that we must integrate the worldwide offices with global actions, without taking away their independence. We have an international company style, for sure, but our identity is very Hanseatic.
Karl-Heinz Mller has worked in assembly at Eppendorf Instrumente GmbH since 1974. When I started here I was employee 274. Since then a lot has happened here, and my work has been quite varied up until now. In the last 30 years the product lines have changed regularly and our team must always set new challenges for ourselves.
Marcel Pttbach is the Product Specialists area manager and has worked since 1998 in Eppendorf AG. In my job, I also work on-site in the markets. The Eppendorf trademark opens every laboratory door around the world for me, with its high-quality products. Due to the enthusiasm and interest of the customers for our products, I feel acknowledged. It is a pleasure and I feel somewhat proud to represent Eppendorf.

Nils Krger studied industrial engineering and management and after his postgraduate work at Eppendorf, wrote his thesis. After successful participation in the management trainee program, he is today department manager of production planning at Eppendorf AG in Hamburg. "During the three year support program, along with the comprehensive methods and management training, the exchange between the prospective and experienced management was especially one of the most important building blocks. The personal contact and relationship across the individual areas of technology changed my perspective of the corporate group. So much from the support program advanced me personally and I still profit today from the knowledge and experience from that time.

After a qualifying initial basic education, Eppendorf supports trainees from their own ranks. Training takes place in proven and future-oriented job descriptions and has a long tradition. Using our training concept, we support equally the placement of occupational, personal and social competence. Using specific training marketing, we gain the interest of, and convince, suitable applicants for our training occupations. Our training spectrum completely encompasses both sales and technical/industrial occupations. Through a practicum, we encourage students to gather important occupational experience. Furthermore, there is also the possibility for students to have supervision in their thesis for doctorate, bachelor and master.

Here is an example of some of our benefits: Retirement A company retirement for our employees supplements the legal retirement. Company restaurant As a rule, there is a cafeteria available at every large Eppendorf location. The food is subsidized to a large extent by Eppendorf. Company sports options Eppendorf and its involved company sport groups are especially proud to be able to offer a large variety of sports possibilities. The list includes soccer, fitness, sailing and more. In addition, there is a company band, which plays at company festivities and other special occasions. Health management We create a working environment that offers every employee a healthy workplace. Child daycare Children 6 months of age and up are cared for in our daycare center "Eppiland (see picture below) at the Hamburg location. Along with an innovative educational concept, the bilingual care is especially to be highlighted. Vacation Even vacation is emphasized at Eppendorf. Because only rested and relaxed employees can do a good job. For this reason every employee receives on principle 30 days vacation. Furthermore, there are special events which lead to special vacation. Variable working time and other work time models In many areas of work Eppendorf meets the needs of the employee with the variable work time system. This enables an easier arrangement of time with job, family and private interests. Capital-building payment schemes Eppendorf pays the permanent employees and trainees the monthly contributions for the scheme in legally recognized forms of savings of capital building.

In cooperation with the Northern Institute of Technology and the Technical University Hamburg-Harburg, Eppendorf is the sponsor of the "Global Engineering Award". This program offers highly qualified international students the opportunity to complete the Master of Science in Engineering and the MBA in Technology Management simultaneously under optimum academic conditions. Eppendorf is sponsor and partner in many projects in trainee support. The "MTA prize was started with the MTA Dialog magazine. It is awarded every 2 years at the MTA Congress to MTAs and MTA students. In addition, for years we have successfully supported the "Internationale Biologieolympia" which is held for German students at the gymnasium level, with printed material, Eppendorf products and the setup for the events.
