INTRODUCTION
The CFMU Interactive Reporting (CIR) is a WEB interface allowing reports on CFMU archived data and derived performance & quality indicators, generated from its operational systems and stored in the CFMU Datawarehouse (DWH), its archive system. Through the CIR, the users may access a set of pre-defined reports, with interactive features and secured authentication ensuring confidentiality. Reports can be generated instantly at any time, with the possibility to compare latest archived results (available 1 or 2 days after the operations) with trends over several years. Available since October 2004 (version 1), the CIR is a protected application, accessible on request, for Aircraft Operators (AOs), Air Navigation Services Providers (ANSPs), States, Legal Authorities, AIS/ARO, Airports. CIR was then revamped in May 2007, featuring a totally new interface (version 2). From November 2009 onwards, CIR version 3 is based on the latest version of its underlying technology (Business Objects XI product suite), also introducing a new interface and user experience.

Categories are a way of organizing documents. A category displays only the documents that have been assigned to it, rather than the entire list of documents that are available to you. This makes it easier to sort and find documents in document lists. Categories may have subcategories within, and so create hierarchical categories.

The main/central panel To see the documents assigned to a given category, simply click the categorys name. The central panel (Figure 6-1) displays the title of each document, next to a small icon. A description of each document is shown, following the upper-case keyword DESCRIPTION. Some documents have a rather long description which is best read with a pop-up window appearing by just hovering the mouse over one description line.
6.4.
Data Availability Availability of data varies between reports: Most of the time, the most recent data available in the CIR reports correspond to the operations of 2 days ago, except for category Flights Lists (with latest data corresponding to operations of the day before). The period of time those data remain available vary according the level of aggregation: most detailed data are kept for 15 months; more aggregated counts are kept for several years (typically 5 years).

How to Open a Specific Corporate Document Similarly to the functionalities and principles of Microsoft Windows Explorer, a single click on a particular corporate (sub-)category in the tree structure of left panel displays in the main/central panel the list of CIR documents classified under this category. In the example illustrated below (Figure 7-1), the Flight Flight Details sub-category is expanded, and CIR document titled Selection of Flights Using ADEP - ADES - ARCID - AO Delay Criteria or Registration Marking is selected (highlighted).
Figure 7-1
CIR documents (selected/highlighted beforehand or not) can be opened by double-clicking on their titles. Nearly all CIR documents need user-defined input parameters before returning data matching the users requirements. As explained in the following section (7.2), CIR Users

have to respond to prompts, in a similar way to the interaction mode of previous CIR versions. 7.2. Responding to Prompts Figure 7-2 below illustrates the Prompts window popping up when running the CIR report given as an example in the previous section (7.1).
Figure 7-2
The Prompts window is split in two parts: The upper part is a scrollable window showing all the prompts applicable to a particular CIR document. Before being filled in, a prompt must be selected by a mouse click, it then gets highlighted with a blue background color. (The first prompt is always pre-selected when the Prompts window shows up) The lower part is an edit box where the user types in a particular value for the prompt previously selected, using a particular format where applicable (e.g. DD/MM/YYYY is the default and mandatory format for parameters of type date).
7.2.1.
Mandatory and Optional Prompts Mandatory prompts are preceded by a red arrow ( ,see Figure 7-2) Optional prompts are labelled as such and do not require to be answered to refresh the report

Different Viewing Modes CIR documents can be viewed (on the screen) using different modes. Changing the viewing mode is achieved by activating the View drop-down list (Figure 7-9). With the default Page mode, the page number of the report is displayed between the CIR banner and the report header, and can be edited to go to a particular page (see brown ellipse on Figure 7-9). Alternatively, the User may progress sequentially from one page to the next, previous, first or last one using the arrow-shaped buttons. The draft mode removes all of the page layout (e.g. the Eurocontrol logo and the report header are hidden). Reported data can be viewed and scrolled within a single screen. More information on the different viewing modes is detailed in the Business Objects technical documentation (see the Help function, section 5.1).

Unavailability of the Archive System (Datawarehouse - DWH) Interventions on the Archive System (DWH Datawarehouse) will necessarily induce the unavailability of the CIR service as it uses the DWH as its data source. The planned intervention windows for DWH system are: Major increments for DWH require a stop of the application. These interventions are planned 1 week in advance. Every 4 weeks the DWH system is down between 17:00 and 23:00 UTC for the Monthly back up (17/8/04, 14/09/04, 12/10/04,). The 4-weekly monthly backups are planned on Tuesday evenings. Every 8 weeks the DWH system is down because of a server maintenance window between 22:00 and 00:00 UTC. The 8-weekly intervention windows are planned on Saturday nights.
During these planned intervention windows, the CIR service may become unavailable. 10.2. Unavailability of the Reporting Application (BIS) used as Support for the CIR Service Planned interventions windows on the reporting application (BIS) used as support of the CIR service are: Major increments of the CIR. These will be planned 1 week in advance. Weekly shutdown of the Internet applications (CIA/NIP) between 21:15 and 22:00 on Tuesday.
During these planned intervention windows, the CIR service may become unavailable. 10.3. Information on CIR Unavailability Except for the weekly intervention window on the BIS application between 21:15 and 22:00 on Tuesdays, planned interventions on DWH and BIS systems will be published on the CIR Welcome page (see Para. 2.5, Text line X + News). Unavailability of the CIR, due to other unexpected events, will be published via the same channel. In addition to this, the Archive System (Datawarehouse - DWH) unavailability is also published via AIM, for users of the RCA (Archive data).

KNOWN PROBLEMS
Personalisation of My InfoView With CIR version 2 (available from May 2007 to November 2009), it was possible for every CIR User to personalise his/her own CIR home screen by, for instance, gathering only the most frequently used reports instead of working with the standard CIR home screen showing all corporate categories and reports. This option is in theory still available with CIR version 3 (by clicking on menu Open My InfoView) but its current implementation suffers a number of problems. It is therefore recommended not to use this option.
11.2.
Line Truncation The underlying technology of CIR (Business Objects XI product suite) sometimes truncates multi-line flight messages and more generally non-tabular text streams, mainly at top or bottom of screen pages or sections (Page mode view). This problem (escalated to the Business Objects / SAP company) is illustrated below:
Figure 11-1
For such reports, this line truncation problem will persist in the PDF exportation, but Excel and csv exportations, as well as pasting information into MS-Word, wont present this problem. It can also be bypassed easily for on-screen report viewing by switching to draft mode (click on View Draft mode).

The Navigation Map With CIR version 2, it was possible to navigate from report to report within a document and from section to section within reports as illustrated below:
Figure 11-2
CIR version 3 features a Navigation Map, unfortunately not functional for the time being (see Figure 11-3). Pending support from SAP, this problem will hopefully be fixed in a subsequent release of CIR.

Interactive-HTML features On-screen filtering, sorting, cell formatting and other data manipulations were available by means of a contextual menu (right click) within CIR version 2, as illustrated below by Figure 11-4. These features are temporarily unavailable with CIR version 3. CIR users will easily overcome these limitations with more precise input parameters in CIR prompts and by exporting CIR data to MS-Excel.

Login is not Valid What does the message Your Login is not valid mean, when it appears after the Login Page or the CIR Welcome page? What can I do?
12.5.
Your access has been accepted at the Login Page (no particular message on this page), but you receive this message after and you are not able to reach the CIR Start Page. Make sure you entered your Username properly at the Login. If necessary, close the browser window and restart your browser. If the problem persists after another login attempt, please contact the CFMU System Operations (CSO) Helpdesk (seer page iii, for co-ordinates). No data to retrieve in When running a query of a document, what does no data to retrieve mean? It means that the submitted query to the DWH server did not retrieve any data, according to the selection criteria youve specified. What can I do when I receive the message no data to fetch? Check that the specified selection criteria are correct. Check that: Dates criteria are falling within the data availability period (see Para. 6.4.). Youve respected the requested format, including the minimum characters to be specified for some selection criteria.
Presence of misspelling or relevancy of specified values. After having performed those checks, if the message persists and you still expect available data for the corresponding selected criteria, please send a mail to the CFMU Info Centre (see page iii, for coordinates), with the report name you were using and the values youve inserted in the different selection criteria (a print-screen is also usable).

Partial Results Why do I receive Partial Results when running a query in some reports? It is probably due to selection criteria values corresponding to a large spectrum of data: several days of data, identifier for locations or for flights with 2 letters followed by % or * This message may appear after youve received some data: in this case, it means that retrieved data set is not complete, but the set is too large according allocated resources. If the message appears without display of any data but after a significant response time, it means that the server was not able to retrieve requested data within allocated resources. Try to restart the query with the same values. If you receive the same message, then try to use more accurate selection criteria values: shorter time period (one day), a more accurate identifier of the location (Airspace, Point, TV, AD,..) or for the flights (Aircraft Id) If the problem persists with accurate selection criteria (selection of 1 day, accurate identifier without %), please send a mail to the CFMU Info Centre (see page iii, for coordinates), with the report name you were using and the values youve inserted in the different selection criteria (a print-screen is also useful).
