for if ye do these things, YE SHALL NEVER FALL - 2 Peter 1:10

I can vividly remember struggling as a young Christian in my early days. Constantly battling the enemy who flooded my thoughts that I will back sly and turn my back on the Lord Jesus. It was an onslaught of thoughts that shook me up. During this time I spent much time reading my bible and looking for assurance from Gods word to combat those doubtful thoughts. Then one day as I read my Bible I stumbled across a verse in 2 Peter 1:10 IF YOU DO THESE THINGS YOU SHALL NEVER FALL All of a sudden the battle that was waged against my mind came to a screech ing halt. I got the victory over thinking I would backslid and turn my back on the Lord. I quickly backed up because I wanted to know which things I needed to do that promised once applied I would never fall. As I did I came across seven things that revolutionized my walk with God. It was these things that gave me the victory over the enemy and kept him under my feet. You are about to experience this same victory. Just before going into great detail about the seven things I want to focus your attention to 2 Peter 1:5 ADD TO YOUR FAITH How does one add to his faith? You would do well to pay attention to this because the disciples were caught in a storm in Mark 4:35-41 and the Lord rebuked the storm and said, Peace be still And there was a great calm. Interestingly enough in verse 40 Jesus said, how is it that you have no faith. Simon Peter who wrote the epistles of First and Second Peter was aboard that ship and was able under the unction of the Holy Ghost to pen the words add to your faith This same Simon Peter was caught in another storm in Matthew 14:22 -34 and this time Jesus said, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? I see this as a compliment because in the first storm Peter had no faith. Now in the second storm he had a little faith which meant that at least this time he had faith. Peters faith began to increase. Later on when Peter and John got questioned by the High Priests for healing a man at the temple gate Peter was able to say in Acts 3:16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, THE FAITH WHICH IS BY HIM hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. Glory to God Peter went from no faith, to little faith, and next to the God kind of faith. This is how you get your faith to grow by constantly sitting under the teaching of Gods word. Romans 10:17 say So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Jesus also said in Matthew 4:4 Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. I have great news for you. You are well on your way. Just the mere fact that you are taking the time to read this article your faith is increasing and growing. You are already applying the main principle which is to have a faith that grows. The apostle Peter also says in 1 Peter 2:2 desire the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby You are only reading because there is a desire deep down on the inside of you from the Holy Ghost to consume the word of God. You are on the right path child of God and dont allow anyone to steer you of f course. Be looking for the next articles because I will go into detail and explain the seven things that we must add to our faith as stated in 2 Peter. God Bless, Pastor Sean Pinder
