Optivent Basic and Plus will give you low operating costs over time
Ventilation and air conditioning require the supply of energy, primarily in the form of electrical energy, to fans and refrigerating machines. To achieve an energyefcient system with the lowest life cycle cost (LCC), it is important to adapt the technical solution in line with the specic needs in a given building its various rooms. These needs are determined in turn by a number of different factors, including the type of building and the type of activity undertaken in the premises. Variations in occupancy level and in the number of persons who are present in a room over time (loading) are signicant factors to be taken into account when choosing a technical solution. The air that we breathe out makes humans the largest source of carbon dioxide (CO2) inside a room. For this reason, the level of CO2 in a room can be used as a reliable indicator of the loading and, as a result, the air quality in a room. An increase in the number of persons in a room also causes an increase in the level of CO2, and conversely the level of CO2 falls proportionally as the number of persons in a room decreases. Dynamically varying the air ow according to the actual loading, based on temperature, occupancy, CO2 level or a combination of these parameters, brings several advantages. You can ensure good air quality and a comfortable indoor climate at the same time as you avoid unnecessary ventilation and save energy as a result.
Fixed Flow This provides a system with a constant ow without the possibility of adaptation according to the prevailing load inside the premises.
GOOD
Guaranteed benets: Level of CO2 Velocity within the occupied space Noise generation Temperature gradient
Optivent Basic Here the ow inside the premises is adapted according to the loading to give the right ow at all times. Regulation is via a temperature sensor, occupancy or CO2.
BETTER
Optivent Plus Here you have a rst-class indoor climate. The active air terminal device ensures good remixing and reduces the risk of draughts, including at low ows. This is achieved by the active air terminal device maintaining a constant outlet velocity despite variations in the ow rate. Regulation takes place in the same way as for Optivent Basic.

BEST
Which products are included in the Optivent Basic and Plus systems?
Supply air terminal device RHKH & DYKH
A classic ceiling-mounted terminal device with a perforated or unperforated under part or nozzle is included in Optivent Basic. Fixed settings for slots or nozzles. The terminal devices are available in various sizes and can handle ows of up to 168 l/s. Connection box ATTB with a measurement damper and air tightness class C assures a good function and optimal operation over time.
Optivent Basic
Optivent Basic
An active supply air terminal device which maintains a constant outlet velocity in the slot and assures the throw, so that a comfortable indoor climate can be maintained even if the ow varies. The terminal device is available in various sizes and can handle ows of up to 200 l/s. Connection box ATTB, as above. A variable ow terminal device EMSS handles a variable ow inside the room.
Optivent Basic/Plus
Optivent Basic/Plus
Temperature regulation
Suitable for premises with a high occupancy level and a uniform loading. Via the integral temperature sensor or STRZ-05 external temperature sensor, a pre-set temperature is maintained in the room regardless of the loading.
Optivent Basic/Plus
Occupancy regulation
Suitable for premises with a low or variable occupancy level and a uniform loading. Equipping the regulator with an occupancy sensor STRZ-09 provides a function in which the regulator regulates the temperature when someone is present in the room. When the room is unmanned, the regulator switches to an economy mode and produces a saving in energy.
CO2 regulation
Suitable for premises with large variations between high and low loading by persons who are present. Supplementing the system with an STRZ-18 CO2 produces a function in which the regulator increases the ventilation ow if the CO2 level exceeds a pre-set maximum threshold value. A good air quality is assured in this way regardless of the loading, at the same time as unnecessary ventilation can be avoided.

Stock room
Provided that what is kept in the stock room does not impose special demands on the indoor climate, Fixed Flow is a cost-effective alternative for this type of room in most cases.

The next step is to select the EMS type, EMSS, EMSD or EMOS/E and size. When selecting the size, you must take account of the ow range of the particular size. Balance in the room or transferred air to a centrally located exhaust air terminal device? If you wish to have balance in the room, you should use an EMS for the supply air and an EMS for the exhaust air. These can either be controlled in parallel by the same signal, or you can select master/ slave control. If you choose to have a centrally located exhaust air terminal device,
Room controllers
EMS processes 0/2-10V signals both as input signals and as output signals. It is also possible to force the damper via closing contacts to a set minimum or maximum value, fully open damper or fully closed damper. STRA04 has been specially developed for se Optivent Bas and Plus. You can choose uto regulate by temperature, CO2, occu. pancy or with a combination of these.
Do you have a requirement that all rooms will need to be capable of producing maximum ows at the same time, or do you anticipate that there will be a certain absence at all times? This combined effect factor affects the requirement for performance in the unit and, as a consequence of this, you can sometimes go down in both unit size and duct dimensions. Whatever the case, you must ensure that the unit is capable of handling both the design minimum and maximum ows. The choice of cooling system, for example, can also affect the ow range.
The system
Do you mix areas with variable ows and constant ows? If so, you should check how different operating modes affect the spaces
