merman murdered 17-year-old
Trayvon Martin in a case that
sparked widespread outrage
and prompted civil-rights
marches.
They will begin their work
listening to testimony and eval-
uating evidence Monday
morning.
On Thursday, attorneys who
had individually questioned
nearly 100 prospective jurors
went one by one picking the six
plus four alternates.
It was dramatic and conten-
tious andrace was very much
at play.
The process was moving
along smoothly when defense
attorney Mark OMara piped
up.

The calendar could put a
small kink in this years Inde-
pendence Day travel, according
to a forecast released Thursday
by travel clubAAA.
With the Fourth of July holi-
day falling on a Thursday this
year, the long weekendis a little
shorter than last years, when
the holiday fell on Wednesday.
That could result in slightly
fewer Americans taking a trip
this time around.
AAAsaidit expects 40.8 mil-
lion Americans to travel
50 miles or more from home
during the holiday period, com-
pared with 41.1 million during
last years holiday. That in-
cludes about 2 million Florid-
ians with plans for a July 4 get-
away, about evenwithlast years
headcount.
