VHA Alumni: a Testimony to Valley High Academys Vision

The pivotal measure of an educational institution is not solely what she can offer but what she was able to produce throughout its existence. Valley High Academy, for her almost ten years of being, takes pride of her own share of graduates who are equally competent as those who have graduated from other recognized and longestablished academes in the country, and who are now students or graduates of top calibre universities and colleges such as the University of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas, Ateneo De Manila University, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Merriam College and others. As a testimony of her unparalleled commitment to her vision of producing graduates who are responsible denizens of the community, VHA gathered her alumni through a Grand Homecoming Night that winded up the celebration of her Foundation Day last year. More than just the usual gathering for reminiscing memories of a home that has been so lovingly missed for the years that have had past, what also transpired during that night was the laying of the ground work for organizing the VHA Alumni Association. According to Dr. Mark DG. Fabella, VHA Principal, it is an honour for VHA to be able to organize her Alumni Association in just a span of ten years unlike other schools that took them almost twenty years and so. As a fulfilment to VHAs vision and mission, the Ad Hoc Officers of the Alumni Association revealed during the event the Tripartite Goals it sought to accomplish. These goals include: 1) Alumni Communication and Networking, 2) Academic Support Program, and 3) Community Service Activities. They further told that said association envisions becoming an independent organization duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission in three to five years time. True to the symbol of a lighthouse (Parola), which the Ad hoc Officers selected as the iconic embodiment of the homecoming night, VHA Alumni hopes to become beacons of light that will do its part in casting off the gloom of our Nations darkest night and sailors in a sea of galleons, a dream beyond our seeing.
