Start June 4, 2013 End August 10, 2013 Compensation Hourly - $10.00 to $13.00 (up to 40 hours per week) Regional Program Coordinator Jim Gwinn, Human Resources Director jim.gwinn@univar.com 215-337-5403 About the Program The Univar Internship is committed to providing a real-world hands-on experience to provide students exposure to the chemical distribution industry. This 10-week program is project mentor- led and each weekly rotation will have program deliverables which will challenge and test the students knowledge, comprehension, capacity and capability. Our Internships will provide valuable insight into career interests, professional aspirations and personal values. At Univar, our employees are dedicated, committed and hard working. Program
WEEK ONE Branch orienation WEEK TWO Environmental health and safety WEEK EIGHT Operations (floor)

Participate in new hire operations training. Environmental health and safety company overview and philosophy. Perform environmental health and safety audit and attend monthly safety meeting. Navigate EDX and learn the Univar quality improvement process. Review customer specs and requirements. Attend monthly quality meeting and perform International Standards Organization audit if available.

Training for specific functions performed on the floor. Fill drums and totes for a day with operator in full personal protective equipment. Experience deliveries with a driver. Work in the warehouse loading trucks and completion of paperwork. Lab / dispatch / work in blending room.

WEEK NINE Finance and human resources

WEEK THREE / FOUR Sales inside and outside

New hire sales training: including key markets; review of top suppliers and key products. Sales organization overview and philosophy. Overview of UVX and Salesforce.com systems to understand business supports. Attend weekly inside and outside sales meetings. Ride-along with sales manager and district manager. Develop a sales plan for a target customer and product.

Review a branch Profit & Loss Statement. Participate on a district / branch aged inventory conference call. Review chargeback process. Various financial functions (i.e. inventory adjustments, coding expenses, etc.) Human resources overview including compensation, recruitment, training & development, and talent management. Participate in an interview (both interviewer and interviewee) for a position within the organization.

WEEK TEN Prep and deliver final presentation

Generate and present a presentation to management on 10 week internship review and designated project.

WEEK FIVE / SIX Customer service and sales support

New hire customer service training. Review required training program to be a certified Customer Service Representative. The basics of customer service philosophy and communication. Observing daily routines, required communication, computer and time management skills Navigate UVX (internal system.) Introduction to quality systems utilized within the department.

WEEK SEVEN Materials planning and supply chain

Overview supply chain distribution network and strategic purchasing. Observe supply chain planning and scheduling assist in daily routine of buyer and / or planner. Resolving inventory issues, costs, and customer inquiries.
