Item songs are the best way to add some much-needed sizzle on the screen, and some of them do their jobs thoroughly. And yet there are few that tend to get lost in the glitter and come out as downright comical or disheartening! Check them out.

Veena Malik's 'Channo' in 'Gali Gali Chor Hai'

We have no idea what Veena Malik's trying to do/prove with her existence, but we sure know one thing for sure, that she shouldn't be making item numbers! We'd still stick to one thing; leave the dirty dancing to the professionals. This isn't where your expertise lies. How about you try making a career in singing? Although, we'd want to go deaf before that.

Chitrangada Singh's 'I Want Fakth You' in 'Joker'

Confession time; we unconditionally adore her! She has some of the sexiest features in B'town and has got everything that it takes to be at the top. Chitrangada been acting in some brilliant path making movies, yet this one foolish move has set her way down on the hotness scale. She just isn't made for item numbers, and something so god-like should never be tarnished! Hope she has learnt her lesson, and lets hope we dont see her in one ever again (unless it's well made of course)!

Sameera Reddy's 'Kunda Khol' song from 'Chakravyuh'

We thought she was half-past dead, completely disappearing from Bollywood and everyone was under the misconception that she'd shifted down south to earn some there. Albeit the dusy hottie struck again as always, and this time with Chakravyuh! She came like a lightning, and disappeared just as quickly! We do admit, she has given us some really good item songs in the past, but this was truly disheartening.

Bipasha Basu's 'Ho Gayi Tun' song from 'Players'

Bips revolutionized the new-wave of movies by doing some of the sleaziest and raunchiest of flicks, and made a niche for herself. Players was a fairly decent flick, and Bips as always strutted her hot bod throughout the flick, yet her item number failed miserably for one and all! It lacked everything that Bips was all about, and more! Maybe she should take a break from all the hoopla and do some calendar shoots just to please our eyes!

Scarlett Mellish Wilson's 'Imported Kamariya' from Shanghai

Yet another import, this time from Great Britain, Scarlett Mellish Wilson was chosen to reprise the role of the item girl in Imported Kamariya and people thought maybe she would be capable of generating the same thrills and chills as Yana Guptadid in Babuji, but boy, were they wrong! She came and went and people barely noticed! Maybe the song didn't work, or maybe she didn't. Let's give her another shot and another slot as another item girl, and lets hope second time's the charm!

Mallika Sherawat's item song 'Laila' from 'Tezz'

We curse our fate for her existence, and yet we're tortured by her presence time and again on the big screen. We do know that we all enjoyed Murder and Pyaar Ke Side Effects, but that was it! Her career never went beyond this, even with the nudge of an international flick and Jackie Chan's Kung Fu, and she tried reviving it with Laila from Tezz. Doing her usual drama, it never mesmerized us, and forced us for a popcorn break throughout the song. Give up, Mallika, we can't take the torture anymore!
