Readers Theatre Scripts

Readerstheaterisoftendefinedbywhatitisnotnomemorizing, noprops,nocostumes,nosets.Allthismakesreaderstheatereasy! ReadersTheatreismuchlikestorytellingyouleavethe imaginationtotheaudience. ReadersTheaterinvolveschildreninoralreadingthroughreadingparts inscripts.Unliketraditionaltheatre,theemphasisisonoralexpressionof thepart.ReadersTheateristheatreoftheimagination.Itinvolves childreninunderstandingtheirworld,creatingtheirownscripts,reading aloud,performingwithapurpose,andbringingenjoymenttoboth themselvesandtheiraudiences.1 Almostanystorycanbescriptedforreaderstheater,butsomeareeasier andworkbetterthanothers.Ingeneral,lookforstoriesthataresimpleand lively,withlotsofdialogoraction,andwithnottoomanyscenesor characters.
