They must earn at least four PEARL s in each of five core areas called the 5 Ss. They also work on a Personal Development PEARL (PDP) over the course of the academic year. After graduation, we may continue to earn 21 PEARLs yearly, in core areas better aligned with alumnae membership. These activities may be completed individually or as a group. About Our Organization

The Delta Phi Epsilon California Alumnae Association was chartered in 2002 by 25 women, 23 of whom were from the Epsilon Upsilon Chapter. The organization is divided into five geographical areas: Humboldt San Francisco Sacramento Los Angeles San Diego When you join, you may choose to receive invitations to events in a particular area, but you are not limited to just one area! You may attend any CAA event. Occasionally, we plan events for sisters from multiple areas to get together. Delta Lambda Chapter alumnae and Epsilon Upsilon Chapter alumnae have also each held reunions for their own members. Being a part of the CAA is a great way to make sure you hear about For example, founding President Gina Haney Curtis has not lived in California at any point during her the existence of the Alumnae Association, yet she has maintained continuous membership. these events. We have members from Epsilon Upsilon (Humboldt State University), Alpha Iota (University of San Francisco), Delta Lambda (UCLA), and other Chapters. Sisters living in California are always welcome, regardless of Chapter affiliation. There have been multiple cases of California natives and East Coast sisters becoming best friends. The CAA encourages sisters from California chapters to maintain their membership and hold positions, even if they move out of state or abroad. Founding member Erica Griffin LeBarron has spent much of her career travelling the world while living on the East Coast. She recently renewed her CAA membership, despite plans to move from Arcata to China this summer. If a group of California alumnae find themselves in another state, there is the option to form another area. For instance, there could be a Seattle Area Coordinator for the California Alumnae Association. CAA has become one of the most successful Alumnae Associations in the Sorority! We have been represented at the last two Biennial Conventions and hope to continue demonstrating our strength to IHQ and serving as a role model for other Alumnae Associations. This strengthens IHQs ability to expand the number of chapters on the west coast.
