Configure BSNL Broadband Modem and Router for Wi-Fi Lan using simple Steps

You might be thinking to convert BSNL Broadband service to full fledged Wi-Fi network at your office or home? You might face different kinds of problems when you try to configure your modem or try to change the settings of network connections.

Here are few simple steps to help you out in configuring ADSL Router/Modem enabling Wi- Fi/WLAN. Anyhow you need modems that are enabled with Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi access provided are ADSL Wi-Fi 2 or Type W1/W2, ADSL Wi-Fi-TA or Type-WT and VDSL Wi-Fi or Type VD modems as of now.

Through BSNL Broadband service, you can follow the below mentioned steps to start the Wi-Fi service at your office or home:

Step 1:

To check your current settings for Internet, click on START button and then go for CONTROL PANEL and then choose the NETWORK CONNECTION.

Step 2:

Now select the Local Area Connection by double clicking on it and then Properties Tab. Choose general tab and select for the Internet Protocol Menu (TCP/IP) by scrolling down. Then, click on the properties button and a new dialogue box with the title Internet Protocol Properties you will find.

Step 3:

Now click on the Use the Following IP Address radio button. You can enter the IP addresses.

To access your modem of routers basic configuration you can copy and paste the IP address or just click on

You can use the following user name and password that are mentioned here in order to enter the Graphic Interface of ADSL Modem. Username: admin Password: admin.

Step 6:

When the User Interface get loaded fully then you can click on the Advanced Setup and next the Edit button over PPPoE Service.

Step 7:

Make sure you don’t change the ATM PVC Configuration. Proceed by clicking the Next button.

Step 8:

In Order to choose the PPP over Ethernet, change the connection type and then click on Next button.

Step 9:

Broadband username and password need to be entered now. You can give your own password to it as username will be the broadband name. Then go ahead with pressing the button available there I mean next or save.

Password security of your Wi-Fi connection:

Step 10: Click on the Wireless tab present on the left side.

Step 11: In that select the Security option and network authentication to open. Enable the WEP encryption and current network key to 1, and then fill the appropriate password of your wish which is strong for your Wi-Fi Lan.

Step 12: To make the settings effective, save the setting and then reboot the modem/router.
