AIMS: - To read and translate correctly the text


- To answer the questions, after they have read and translated the text; - To understand the new teaching words; - To remember and use new words in the context given - To write a favorite dish recipe - To participate with pleasure at the lesson - describing things - making suggestions - answering questions

LANGUAGE FUNCTIONS:

ASSUMED KNOWLEDGE:
Ss learn new things about Britain, a very famous British food, how it is being cooked, new words used in cooking, preparing food, things you use for cooking.

ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS:

If Ss do not understand the oral commands or the tasks, they will be translated into Romanian

STAGES:
ACTIVITY 1: WARM-UP Aims: - to warm Ss up - to recycle vocabulary Timing: 5 min. Interaction: T-Ss, S-T Procedure: T asks Ss if they ever been to Britain or if they know a famous British food. ACTIVITY 2: LEAD- IN Aims: - to get Ss into the new topic Timing: 5 min. Interaction: T-Ss, S-Ss Procedure: Ss are listening a tape about a British dish. T writes the title of the lesson on the board and Ss write it in their copy-books. ACTIVITY 3: PRESENTATION OF THE NEW KNOWLEDGE Aims: - to recognise and use new words - to give Ss practice in listening/comprehension - to encourage Ss to read in English Timing: 15 min. Interaction: T-Ss, S-T, S-Ss Procedure: T asks Ss to read now the given text. Ss are reading the text T asks Ss if there were any unknown words in the lesson and if that Ss write the new words in their copy-books. ACTIVITY 4: FEED- BACK Aims: - to make suggestion - to practice in speaking English - to write a letter Timing: 20 min. Interaction: T- Ss, Ss- T, S-T Procedure: T gives to Ss 3 activities, first where they have to remember things about the text they have read, the second where they have to fulfill the gaps with the right words and the third, to add given words in the correct category. T asks Ss to read the exercises given. Ss are reading and trying to resolve the exercises, applying what they have learned

ACTIVITY 5: EVALUATION Aims: - to evaluate Ss work - to assign Ss homework Timing: 5 min. Interaction: T-Ss, Ss- T Procedure: T names some kids that have responded during the class and gives them some pluses in their notebooks. Then T gives to the Ss the homework, wich consists of writing their favorite food recipe.
