Description
The Gulfstar 44 center cockpit is a graceful performance cruiser that is large enough for a family, but can be handled by one person. Built in the US with consistent fiberglass layout and high quality electrical installations, it has a solid fiberglass hull & deck, with a fin keel and skeg-hung rudder. Inside, there are two staterooms and two heads, a very workable galley, a comfortable dinette, and a separate engine room. I sold one of these to a client a few years back, and he has been cruising with his wife and two children ever since. Unlike many of the other Gulfstars on the market, this model is NOT a tired charter vessel. It has had one owner for the last fifteen years, who has kept it well maintained with new standing rigging, freshly varnished interior woodwork, and many other upgrades.

The anchor locker is followed by a V-berth forward with plenty of storage. There is a head immediately aft to port (which was replaced in 2013.), and storage lockers opposite. Moving aft into the main cabin, there is a large U-shaped dinette to port with a drop down table, and a straight settee opposite to starboard. Aft of the dinette to port is a U-shaped galley with double sinks, gimballed stove, and a sizable refrigerator/freezer. Opposite to starboard is a large navigation station with space enough for charts, and all electronics close to hand. Behind the nav station is a passageway to the aft cabin that is high enough to be able to walk through without crawling (unlike a Peterson.) It passes an engine room that is also large enough to be able to work inside while sitting on the battery box. Finally, there is an aft cabin that has an ensuite head with separate shower stall. The berth is furnished with a custom made (for $2,000) king-sized Tempurpedic matress, and is surrounded by ventilated storage lockers.
