Septic tanks
A septic tank is designed to provide what is known as primary treatment to crude wastewater produced in a normal domestic environment. It retains solids and allows them to settle out, where they can be partially broken down by biological action so that only the remaining liquor is left to ow down the outlet drain. This liquor (normally called e uent) is then su ciently treated to soak into the ground in an underground soakaway system.

Balmorals best selling sewage treatment plant is universally popular across the UK and the Republic of Ireland and provides full treatment to crude sewage produced in normal domestic situations. Balmoral CAP e uent can be discharged directly into a watercourse without having to pass through a soakaway.

With a market-leading pollutant removal level of 97%, the CE-marked HydroClear is easy to install and cost e ective to maintain. Balmoral HydroClear e uent can be discharged directly into a watercourse without having to pass through a soakaway. Balmorals rotationally moulded water tanks comply fully with United Kingdom water regulations. The above ground tanks can be used for mains supplied potable water. The underground models should only be speci ed for non-mains supplied water or indirect mains supplied water. 2 bottom o take option available

Balmoral Rainwater Harvesting SystemsTM

Balmoral rainwater harvesting systems reduce the demand for mains water provision. Many springs and rivers are naturally fed by groundwater and are important for wetlands and their ecosystems. More than 25% of groundwater sources are at risk because of abstraction pressures. By gathering and recycling rainwater, Balmorals harvesting systems reduce the volume of discharged rainwater and contribute to reduced ood risks. The loading on combined sewer over ows is also lowered resulting in improved river water quality.

Tank capacity options

Two tank sizes are currently available in the HydroStore range: 1500 and 2900 litres. If greater storage capacity is required the tanks are easily linked together. For instance the 1500 and 2900 tanks can be linked to provide a working capacity of 4400 litres. Using the linking option, only one tank needs to be tted with inner components while the other(s) perform merely as holding vessels. All tanks are produced as standard with 2 moulded-in outlets meaning that only a length of pipe and two threaded ttings are required to complete the link.
