Walking the Jesus Trail From Nazareth to Caperaum

This past month, in April, we traveled through the length and breadth of the land of Israel for 19 days, touring 12 days with three other couples, precious friends of ours. We began on Mt. Carmel (where Elijah confronted the 450 prophets of Baal) and continued on through the Galilee. We spent five days altogether hiking the Jesus Trail from Nazareth to Caperneum. We also visited Jerusalem for two days and walked around the Old City. Afterwards we traveled to the Dead Sea, through the Negev Desert and stayed in the town of Arad. Finally, we drove all the way to the Gulf of Eilat on the Red Sea, and returned to Jerusalem by way of Mitzpeh Rimon. Everywhere we went we met with Messianic believers in the land who praised God for the reports we brought of the work that God has been doing in Africa these past five years.

Jesus taught His disciples (in response to their request) how they ought to pray. However, just saying the words of the Lords prayer is not enough, we must ask ourselves: Do we really believe and want Gods will to be done when we are praying? I have so often prayed in such a manner: Lord, help me to accomplish my will in your name, and it has taken decades and many unanswered prayers for me to come to the heart of the problem. Prayer must begin with a genuine desire for Gods will to be done in every situation and circumstance in order for it to be effective and touch the heart and throne of our Heavenly Father. It is only then that we will see the great and mighty things that He promised to show us when we call upon Him. (See Jer 33:3). He promised to come close to us when we would come close to him. (James 4:8) If Gods will and desires become ours, we become one in Him. To effectively pray means surrendering our will to His, for He knows the plans He has for us... (Jer 29:11) We must trust that He loves us and desires our best in every area of our lives, for Jesus said he had come to give us life more abundantly. (John 10:10) To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness (Eccl 2: 26) Let us pray with all sincerity:
LORD, LET YOUR WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN!

Last year 59 students graduated in Kitale from four Life Changing Bible Training Centers.

This summer over 100 pastors and church leaders will graduate from five Bible Training Centers in Kaptama, Kapsokwany (on Mt. Elgon), Sikhendu, Welcome and Kitale. They will have completed 520 hours of study in the Bible Training Center for Pastors (BTCP) curriculum over the past two years. We are excited that this week we are training twenty of these soon-to-be graduates in a 2-day teacher training workshp so they can begin training others!

My grace is sufficient for you,

The Challenges of Living in a Third-World Nation

Living in Africa, with the day-to-day challenges of filtering every drop of water you drink and living without electricity when it goes off several times a day (for no apparent reason), is nothing in comparison to the tremendous poverty, violence, disease and universal corruption surrounding us. It is no wonder that so many missionaries called to bring the good news to the Africans get discouraged, burned out and leave with no thought of ever returning. It is in such perilous times like these that we realize that in spiritual darkness the light of Jesus can shine more brightly through us!

Evangelical Outreach Planned for Kakuma Refugee Camp

There are approx 100,000 refugees from South Sudan, Somolia and Ethiopia living in the Kakuma Refugee Camp on the norther Kenyan border with South Sudan. The Lord willing, we will be conducting an evangelistic outreach within this camp from Sept 8-11. Our son, Isaac, and his School of Ministry students in Uganda and a team from the Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marrietta, Georgia will be joing us for this mission. We hope to reach out to 7 major peoples and dialects within the camp doing hut-to-hut personal evangelism and the showing the Jesus Film daily. We are currently coordinating with the pastors within the camp and hope to establish at least one or two Bible Training Centers in the heart of Kakuma! PLEASE PRAY

Jehovah Jireh
We praise the LORD for seeing and providing the following:

All of our needs while in the USA and in Israel!

We left Kenya in February with one-way tickets, trusting that God would provide for our needs. He did so above and beyond all we could have imagined or thought throughout the thousands of miles traveled.

All the needs of the Bible Training Centers in our absence!

Our staff and teachers of Life Changing Discipleship not only continued the Bible Training Centers without interruption but were able to open several new schools while we were away.
