ALL OUT WAR Week 5 - Protecting Your Mind A final word: Be strong with the Lord's mighty power.

Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the Devil.Use every piece of God's armor to resist the enemy in the time of evil, so that after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared. In every battle, you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:10-11, 13-17). Key term connected to salvation: FREEDOM Freedom from pastthe penalty of sin Freedom for presentthe power of sin Freedom for the futurethe presence of sin Now that we are saved, we eagerly look forward to this freedom. For if you already have something, you don't need to hope for it (Romans 8:24). My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken (Psalm 62:1-2). Key term connected to helmet: MIND My mind needs protection from . . . The lies, half truths, and false hopes of the world Impurity Self-deception Doubt Discouragement But let us who live in the light think clearly . . . wearing as our helmet the confidence of our salvation (1 Thessalonians 5:8). MY PART IN THE BATTLE I must accept Gods FREE GIFT of salvation God saved you by his special favor when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8). justification.sanctification.glorification I myself no longer live, but Christ lives in me. So I live my life in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me (Galatians 2:20).

I must examine what I SEE AND HEAR The spiritual person, on the other hand, can assess the value of everything . . . (1 Corinthians 2:15). But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil (Hebrews 5:14). I must allow Gods Word to GUIDE ME Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me (Psalm 119:133). Salvation is found in no one else [no one other than Jesus], for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). I must be inspired toward continual GROWTH Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation . . . (1 Peter 2:2). Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to its lustful desires . . . Instead, give yourselves completely to God since you have been given new life. And use your whole body as a tool to do what is right for the glory of God. Sin is no longer your master . . . Instead, you are free by God's grace (Romans 6:11-14).
