While I have no illusions about my ability to alter the course of our communities, I do believe in my ability to teach students who are just as deserving of a quality education as those who live in more affluent neighborhoods. Through my experiences as an educator, I have come to realize that I have the opportunity to empower my students to change the trajectories of their own lives. This responsibility is immense, but I am eager to give my students the tools they need to succeed. Please accept this letter as a formal application for an intermediate mathematics position at your AUSL school. After graduating from the University of Arizona with a degree in Elementary Education, I decided to move to Chicago to pursue a career in education. Though I had a wonderful experience teaching kindergarten and fifth grade with the Archdiocese of Chicago, I knew I could be doing so much more for my students. My yearlong residency at Bradwell School of Excellence has pushed me beyond anything I imagined a good teacher could achieve.
