The Stewart Chronicles

Moving at Last
With passion in his eyes Pastor Ashburn, a faithful man who planted and has pastored the same church in Torrington Connecticut for half a century, told me that he wanted to go overseas as a missionary but that God had called him to stay: Thank you for going. Pastor Ashburn and his late wife Joyce also started Torrington Christian Academy, the Christian school that I attended through high school. It is a privilege to be part of their legacy and an extension of their ministry to the nations!

Alex with Pastor Ashburn

The plane tickets are purchased, our boxes are shipped, our residency papers are in process, and the reality has hit that in just 3 weeks we will fly to our new home and ministry in the Netherlands! God has blessed our traveling over the past few months and we have been encouraged beyond words by the many churches and friends we were able to visit. Our van hit 200,000 miles without any problems and we were met with a positive reception at each church where we shared! In the midst of all the coming and going we are thankful for quality time spent with our family and some wonderful memories made! We will arrive in the Netherlands on June 20th and begin teaching full-time on July 1. It is so exciting to finally be going overseas as missionaries and fulfilling the call of God to missions that we have both felt from our teenage years!

Our vision is to advance Gods global mission by training Christian leaders who will train others in fulfillment of 2 Timothy 2:2.

Student Highlight: Manuel

Meet Manuel, one of the Dutch students at Tyndale. Manuel works as a youth pastor at a large church near Amsterdam and loves to engage nonbelievers in street evangelism. He believes God has called him to mission work. Although the Netherlands is a very spiritually needy country it is not devoid of Gospel witness! See our blog for an interview with Manuel and uphold him in prayer as he currently serves the church and prepares for Alex and Manuel future ministry (http://stewartfamilychronicles.blogspot.com/2012/08/student-highlightsfai-and-manuel.html).

And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. 2 Timothy 2:2

The Current Financial Situation

Although we are moving in three weeks we are not yet fully funded and are still in need of $1,500.00 a month in support from friends and churches. From a human perspective this is a large number (and should elicit worry and fear) but from Gods perspective it is but a drop in a very large bucket. Faith in Gods calling and provision drives out fear! Having said that, if you have felt God leading you to join our monthly financial support team and have been holding back or delaying, now would be a great time to start . We firmly believe in 2 Cor 9:7 where Paul states: Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. We never try to pressure people to give reluctantly or against their will but we simply try to share our vision and passion for this ministry along with the fact that there is a genuine financial need. Please let us be an extension of your service and join us in changing the world by developing and training international Christian leaders! The Boys with Cousin Riley

Praising God:
1. For safe travel over the past few months and time with family and friends. 2. For his grace that would choose, equip, and use us in his global kingdom. 3. For the many healthy mission-focused churches we have been able to visit.

Please Pray:
1. That God would raise up the remaining needed monthly financial partners. 2. That the paperwork and red tape necessary for us to home school in the Netherlands will get completed smoothly. 3. For grace and peace as we get ready to say see you soon to those we love so dearly and are going to miss so much! Seeking to Glorify Him, Alex and Jenny Stewart
