ECS Computers Expands Product Portfolio By Providing Microsoft Software Licenses on Cloud
Singapore, 28 May 2013 ECS Computers (Asia) Pte Ltd (ECS), the wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Exchange Mainboard-listed ECS Holdings Limited (Group) announced today that it has been appointed as distributor for Microsofts Services Provider License Agreement (SPLA) programme to provide hosting licenses, commercial hosting and software services. Under the SPLA programme, ECS can now offer to its channel partners like system integrators, service providers and independent software vendors Microsoft offerings at flexible cost structures on a subscription basis for its channel partners to host software services and applications for their customers. Besides extending the depth and breadth of offerings to ECS channel partners, the appointment is timely. ECS is increasingly focusing on the enterprise space, a strategy in which it embraces cloud-based infrastructure, solutions and applications as well as virtualisation services including storage, server, client and network related services. Our strong relationship with our vendors and channel partners has brought added value to our proven distribution model in the region. We are able to provide technical and licensing advice in tailoring Microsoft cloud services to our channel partners to make it convenient and cost-effective for them to tap on this growing trend to compete in a competitive and fast-paced business environment, said Mr Sebastian Chong, President, ECS Computers. The subscription model allows clients to pay only for the number of licenses that are actually being utilised. Additionally, consumers of the SPLA licensing model receive software assurance, allowing upgrades of software to the latest versions. This reduces capital expenditure while still availing the same services and improving operational efficiency, Mr Chong added. Microsofts cloud strategy has paid off handsomely in Singapore because of our strong partner eco-system.
