Solution of Quadratic Equations

First, write the quadratic equation in the form ax2 + bx + c = 0 , a 0. Then factorise and write in the form of (x + a)(x + b) = 0 Thus x + a = 0 or x + b = 0 And x = - a, x = - b. Solve the folowing quadratic equations 1. (x + 6) (x 3) = 0 2. ( x + 4)(x 1) = 0 4. ( 4x 3)(2x 5) = 0 5. (2k 5)(k 2) = 0 2 x 8 x2 + 4 7. 8. =x =x 7 5 b 2 +12 3 x 2 8 10. 11. =b =10 7 x 3.
