Start Page

The start page consists of three main panes, all of which allow users to view important information from different modules on a single screen.

Check to see if Customer (same as Advertiser in DFP) exists.


1. Top toolbar click Operations to open the Operations module.

2. Search for Advertiser in the Search text field on the left pane of the screen.

3. If Customer doesnt exist, create a new one 4. Click on New and select New Customer

5. Enter the name of the new advertiser and hit Save at the bottom right of the page.

How to create a NEW INSERTION ORDER:


1. Click New > New IO

2. IO Name field, enter the name for the IO. Naming convention is: PR-Advertiser Name (example: PR-Louis_Vitton) 3. Start Date and End Date ranges Start Date & End Date can be found in DFP or trafficking sheet 4. Click the Advertiser field to open the list of advertisers and select correct one. 5. Leave everything else blank, click NEXT button to advance to Budget module 6. Total IO Budget field enter the budget for the campaign (check in DFP) 7. Click SAVE

How to create a NEW CAMPAIGN


1. Click New > New Campaign

2. Properties Section: a. Name, enter the name for the campaign. Please follow below naming convention: PR-WebSite-Ad_Type_AdvertiserName_Targeting(flight dates)_ImpressionGoal. (Example: PR-ELLE-Interstitial-HM-Beauty-Fashion-Shopping(08-13-08-30)_130K) b. Start Date and End Date drop-down boxes, enter the dates and times between which the campaign will run. c. Priority dropdown: i. Set HIGHEST for Welcome ads; ii. Set STANDARD for Regular Interstitials; iii. Set Economy for Remnant Interstitials. d. Weight dropdown i. Set 100 for Welcome Ads ii. Set 50 or higher (less than 100) for regular Interstitials iii. Set 50 or lower for remnant interstitials e. Distribution dropdown: i. For Welcome ads set ASAP ii. For Interstitials ads set Even 3. Budget Section: a. Pricing Model: i. Set all Interstitials ads as CPM ii. Set all Welcome Ads as CPD b. Rate: enter CPM that is received from ASM. c. Booked Impressions: enter the number based on what is received from ASM. appear. Click icon and this will calculate budget. d. Budget: once Rate and Booked Impressions are entered, you will see field highlighted red and an icon

e. Bonus Impressions: i. Welcome ads enter 20% ii. Interstitials enter 10% 4. Click Save and you will see green check arrow appear 5. Click Next at bottom of page to continue to the Targeting page.

Targeting Information

- When you click Next in the General page, the Targeting page opens. It consists of four tabs:

Channels, Day Parts, User Profile, and GEO.

1. Channels tab Elle (the whole site) or Section targeting e.g. Fashion a. Welcome Ad Select all channels (i.e. select main channel Elle) b. Full Page Interstitial For ROS targeting select all sub channels EXCEPT Homepage. 2. Day Parts: IGNORE 3. User Profile Search Pull down (see image) Select All a. Click Browser Check Custom targeting Uncheck all Safari versions. b. Click Operating System Uncheck all Mobile and Tablets e.g. iPad, iPhone, WinPhone7. 4. GEO: Check ALL Countries UNCHECK Canada 5. Click Save 6. Click Next in the Targeting page.

Advanced Capping Rules Set Frequency Cap 1 impressions per user within 1 day, click ADD and SAVE.

Welcome ads/Interstitials - Images


Assets received: jpeg/gif, click thru URL, impression tracker (if applicable)
1. Click New > New Ad A page opens with 4 tabs: Properties, Creative, Events and Simulation.

2. In the Properties tab a. Name Enter the name for the new ad. Please use following Naming convention is: ELLE-AdvertiserNameAdType Run Dates Ad ID - Imp Amounts (Example: ELLE-Interstitial-Calvin_Klein-ROS-02.05_03.03Ad_ID-266927054-$6K) b. Format Click inside the textfield Click on Format the select ad format (placement) type from the list box. i. Select welcome_ad or interstitial depending on the type of ad you are running

Testing and Setting it live 1. After creating an ad you can test it to see that it behaves as expected. 2. In the campaign level Set Status to TEST/HOLD save and wait 2-3 minutes for the campaign to go thru to the ad server. 3. Check the TEST checkbox. A cookie is saved on your machine enabling you to see this campaign as if it was live.

4. Open the page this campaign is suppose to display on and check to see if it is displaying as you expected it to. It is recommended to click the ad to verify that the click function is redirecting properly. 5. Return to the campaign and uncheck the checkbox. Note that if you do not uncheck this option you will not be able to see live campaigns from this machine. 6. Set the campaign to status Ready and save it.

Congratulations! Allow 2-3 minutes to see your running campaign through AdVantage. Welcome Ad is complete. Please check over your work again.

Welcome ads/Interstitials Flash STEP 1

A cookie is saved on your machine enabling you to see this campaign as if it was live.

10. Open the page this campaign is supposed to display on and check to see if it is displaying as you expected it to. It is recommended to click the ad to verify that the click function is redirecting properly. 11. Return to the campaign and uncheck the checkbox. Note that if you do not uncheck this option you will not be able to see live campaigns from this machine. 12. Set the campaign to status Ready and save it.

Congratulations! Allow 2-3 minutes to see your running campaign through AdVantage. Welcome Ad is complete. Please check over your work again.

Targeting Specific pages


In order to target specific pages in CheckM8, 1. Go to the campaign in question 2. Click on the Campaign level 3. Click on the Targeting tab 4. Then click on the User Profile tab

5. Click in the Search dropdown and select All 6. Scroll down and select Location

7. In the White List, enter the URL of the page you want the ads run on, 8. Then click Add 9. Repeat process 7 for as many pages you want to add.
