Title and Brief Summary include a short rationale for each brief identifying why you chose it, what was the focus of the brief and how long you spent on it. Design Context Design is so simple, thats why it is so complicated Paul Rand I spent a few months collecting content for my context publication and although I did rethink my idea on how to present it in the end, I managed to put the content and layout together in about 2 days. The title is a quote from Paul Rand, which pretty much sums up what I love about design, the fact that it appears to be effortless but there is so much that goes into it. Vintage Luxe A branding brief which allowed me to work with a client and help me focus on my branding and packaging skills. Started working on this in January where I first created the identity for Vintage Luxe, but a lot of the packaging and stationery was created in April/May. Colour & Homeware Originally a Tigerprint competition brief, I used the idea of colour and trend forecasting to create a proposed range of dinnerware and homeware that would be sold in Selfridges. This brief went on for the entire module, as a lot of time was spent developing the original patterns and production of the dinnerware. Branding Tish Photography & Elizabeth Rose What was meant to be a simple branding brief for two creatives, which took a lot longer than I had anticipated due to the fact that it was incredibly difficult to gather any content, until both of them were close to their deadline as they both wanted to include new work from their FMP, which meant I got the branding done quite soon, but couldnt progress with the design of portfolios and promo packs, and when I did get the content, there was the process of going through amends before anything went to print.. The amount of work produced in my opinion doesnt reflect the number of hours I put into these branding projects, especially for Elizabeth Rose. Its the brief that made me realise graphic design isnt about sitting behind a mac doing what I want more time is spent telling a client why I dont want to use their chosen typeface and having to compromise on ideas.. even when theyre not paying. Amnesty International 1984 I started working on this brief after Easter, as I had all the content and research in place from my dissertation. The brief was really about creating awareness about Operation Bluestar, but on the whole the brief really focused on my type and layout skills through the range of deliverables. Process Beauty Although this brief had originally started as an additional brief, when I realised how much time I was actually putting into it, I knew it would be a good idea to develop it as much as I could. I started off with the blog, which I created in January, but only really focused on developing the branding and other deliverables in the last few weeks of the module Interior Design Yearbook Working in collaboration with Sarah Pritchard, Lisa Whitaker and Bethany Yates. This brief really did lake a lot longer than anticipated, but really happy with the overall design direction and although were yet to get the prints back its been a really good experience in terms of sending projects to be commercially printed, although incredibly

frustrating at the same time.. Geek Table Collective Working collaboratively with Bethany Yates, Claudia Griffin, Sarah Pritchard, Sophie Wilson, Kirsty Alderson, Kirsty Hardingham and Lisa Whitaker. The brief ran for the entire module, with the first half being about the weekly briefs we set, some time focusing on the branding and then the last 2 or 3 weeks were when me and Claudia worked together to create the publication and other supporting material. YCN Dowue Egberts Collaborating with Sarah Pritchard to enter the YCN student awards. This was quite a short brief, I would say a week in total, we spent a while coming up with a concept and researching the best way to tackle the brief and the design took 2 or 3 days in total. Live Briefs and Pitches (LCA Graduate Fashion Show Pitch Extended) A collaboration between myself, Bethany Yates and Claudia Griffin. We had pitched for the LCA fashion show branding, and although out pitch was unsuccessful we still decided to extend the brief making it for Leeds fashion week instead. The initial research took a while but in total we probably spent about a week and a half on this brief. Ella Ruth Photography Website This was essentially a brief that took a few days I had done Ellas branding in the last module and spent some time proposing how her website would look. This module I spent some time putting her website together using Cargo collective as a starting point. Type Begins Another collaboration between myself and Sarah Pritchard. We wanted a 1 day brief that was quite exciting and really something to do with Batman, so we joined our love of Batman and typography to create a typographic poster series.

Additional Comments Physical boards are submitted for BRIEF 1, BRIEF 2, BRIEF 4, BRIEF 5 AND BRIEF 8. I chose not to submit the physical boards for Brief 3 (Branding) as although it was a significant brief, due to not being able to develop the brief as much as I would have liked I spent some more time developing the Geek Table deliverables instead.
