As part of a team Chris Van Niekerk, Simon Cherry and Kirsty Fruin and myself designed the identity for the Leeds College of Art Graduate Fashion Yearbook 2013.

Publication
Chris and Simon primarily designed the proposed yearbook. The format is 210cm x 210cm and 80 pages plus. The final outcome takes two images from every student displayed on a double spread, showing minimal type and simplistic layout, the yearbook represents two contemporary pathways.

Double Sided Poster - My Design

Each pathway is represented on one side of 420x840cm poster. The layout places photographs in square and rectangle forms to ensure high end fashion cropping can take place. Each student secures at least one photograph space; the layout makes the viewer see the Fashion pathway as a whole, not as 23 or 18 separate students. Brandon Grotesque is geometric-style sans serif inspired by the 1920s and 30s creating distinctive elegant lettering, perfect for representing Fashion. This is paired with Garamond Italic in a mix of new and tradition. Both typefaces are used throughout the full printed yearbook.

Close-up Posters
The poster folds down to 210x210cm. Numbers are used as a key to link photographs with the student names below. The course information at the top of each side and title was proposed to be gold foiled. The concept of mixing high-end fashion photography with fabric samples and sketchbook work creates an over arching representation of each pathway, making this poster a great advertisement for the courses.
