Dice Tower

Materials Needed
3/16 FoamCore Board o Get the kind that has a paper backing on both sides since the glue will stick best to this. Do not get the plastic backing paper glue cutting knife metal ruler printer it may be easier if you have some kind of a small clamp or even some large elastics to help hold the parts together while the glue dries to soften the noise of the dice rolling inside your tower you may want to glue down some felt onto the ramps?

cut through the top and middle layers then you simply dig out the material left in the slot to make room for the ramps. You do not have to be perfect since any foam left in the slots will get compressed somewhat when the ramp is inserted, but try and get it fairly cleaned out take one of the side pieces and insert the ramps. There is no need to glue the ramps in since the fit should be fairly snug and once the whole tower is together they will not be able to move around then insert the ramps into the other side now glue on the back and then the front making sure everything is nice and square lastly glue on the bottom and then the top

Foamcore Bulding Notes

start with a new sharp cutting blade, its much easier to cut the foamcore with a sharp blade when cutting the foamcore make sure your blade is perfectly straight up and down so you get a nice 90 deg angle cut. The tower goes together much easier if you have nice crisp 90 deg angles do not try and cut through the whole thickness of the foamcore board in one stroke. First cut through the top paper backing, use your second or third stroke to finish cutting through the foam middle, and use you last stroke to cut through the bottom paper backing

Finishing Touches
Now you have a black tower standing 8 3/8 high x 4 wide x 4 deep. You could leave it at that, but to make it really look nice you could take your favorite castle wall texture (WorldWorksGames Castle Works Ultimate would be great) and make a great looking skin for your dice tower. You would need the following: 8 3/8 x 8 printout (front and one side of tower) - I put a portcullis on the front half raised 8 3/8 x 8 printout (back and one side of tower) - I also added windows and arrow slits at various spots on the walls 4 x 4 printout (top of tower) - you could use a stone or wood floor texture for the roof - you could add crenellations at the top of the tower also

Printing Instructions
Very Important! - make sure you do not have fit to page checkmarked when printing or everything will get scaled to different sizes and may not line up properly

Building Instructions
print the four template pages out on regular paper trim excess white border around paper templates glue the paper templates to the foamcore board o you only need to put four small beads of glue on the back of each printout to glue them to the board o after you cutout the foamcore building parts you will simply pull the paper templates off of the foamcore. You will rip off some of the paper backing on one side of the board in the four spots that the glue was at. If you face this bad side of the ramps down then no one will see it. Also face the bad sides of all the other parts inside and this will also hide it o there is a special technique needed when cutting the slots for the ramps to go into its fairly simple, do not cut through the bottom paper backing when cutting out the slots. Only

Whats Missing?
Well being short on time and a bit lazy I havent done the tray that the Dice Tower would sit in so when the dice come flying out of the tower they dont go all over the place. Im still thinking of how I will skin this. Some kind of moat textures and a drawbridge perhaps. To make the base all you really need to do is get a shoe box top for now. I will update this with a design for the base later.
