Level 10 Maddie Brunette Goes to Nationals!

We are excited to announce our new program: Gym Action!

Please help us congratulate Madison Brunette, our only Level 10 gymnast at SGA, for her wonderful showing at her first Level 10 National Championship Meet. Twelve-year-old Madison has accomplished a great deal in a short amount of time. She began her training at SGA in our Rec Op program and went from Rec Op to becoming a National qualifying gymnast in just Gym Action is our new 3 short years. This year was her first year competing at Level 10, and not Recreational Competition only did she qualify to Nationals, she was the only gymnast in the Junior League for boys ages 7-14. Three SGA girls made it to at all our locations: Ballard Ballard, the Central Sectional Team and they competed against the South Columbia City City, and Lake Section, North Section and the East Section. All of Washington State is City City. Space is limited, so divided into 4 sections and each section took the top 20 girls with the call your gym to sign up highest AA scores to make each sectional Team. So congratulations to your gymnast today! Ada Reece, Kendall Torres, and Mackenzie Kim: Great job, girls! Gym Camp Fun The state meet was divided into 3 divisions: Gold, Silver and Bronze. At Columbia City SGA Each athlete was ranked into one of these divisions based on her AA SGA Columbia City put on a score at the Sectional Meet earlier this season. Congratulations go to spectacularly fun-filled Lucy Chung, Sophia Goodman, Mackenzie Kim, Keilee Okumoto, Aria Sowers, Annie Hatzenbeler, Abby Pierce, Ada Reece and Kendall Torres spring break camp, hosting over 70 kids during our who all qualified for the Gold Division! week off from classes. Chloe Lipitz and Lanae Coffee qualified in the Silver Division - way to go, SGA welcomed first-time girls! And Tara Gamsky competed in the Bronze Division - good job! gymnasts, and long-time familiar faces from preschool age beginners through intermediate skill levels. Gymnasts enjoyed hours of directed- and freeplay in our first-class facility. They bounced on our trampolines and romped in the bouncy house, learned new skills and perfected old ones. The kids participated in games for the whole until they completely ran out of energy.
Congratulations to all the Level 4s for an incredible season! Ready for Gym Action!

Our Levels 5 & 6 Girls' Teams also wrapped up their competition last weekend in Spokane, WA, with the 2013 State Championship Meet hosted by Dynamic Gymnastics. In the Youth A division Abbey Amemiya did an awesome job AA, Gracyn Brunnette received 2nd place Vault, Nora Leonard also did very well. Hannah Ota won the Child C age division - congratulations! Carli Richards, Cate Jescke, and Mae Vanderslice also did well in that division. Lucy Kaufer who was our top scorer in the Junior A division and Molly Deal was likewise in the Junior B division. Danielle Lobo, Mariana Forehand, and Caroline Casey all did well in the Youth C age division!

When it was time for a rest, staff and gymnasts retired to the upstairs party room where they found their inner artist, engineer, or designer, through fun crafts that changed daily. Everyone had an awesome time and kids headed home happy and tired at the end of each day. Here is a snapshot of the very first rocket ever built in an SGA Gym. Standing over 25ft tall, including a launch pad and stabilizers, we have future aerospace engineers in the making!

Spring Gymnastics!
Richards; Front: Mari Forehand Any amount, large or small, - Photo Credit: Nicole Casey will help keep the Girls' Rounding out our compulsory girls, Level 6 Team girls wrapped up their Junior Olympic Team tumbling! competition season last weekend at the State Championship Meet in Spokane. Devin O'Leary was our top scorer in the Senior D division. Sadie Cook was likewise in the Junior B age division. In our Junior D division, Elizabeth Allen, Lauren Rickert and Sydney Pytte got the highest $1 SGA scores. And in our Senior A division, Masami O' Malley and Anu Domingo did great! $5 The SGA Girl's Optional Teams, Levels 7-10, did a great job at the 2013 Regionals Meet hosted by Metropolitan Gymnastics. Starting with the $10 Level 7 girls: Anna Roberts took home 4th place AA, and Elise Cummings also did very well. Our Level 8 girls, Olivia Ledesma, Margaret Once you've clicked, you may specify any amount. Chi, and Kim Kramers did an awesome job. Our Level 8 Washington State Team took 1st place Team! Two-Dollar Tuesdays at Columbia City SGA Supporting the Rainier Valley Food Bank As the New Year rang in and the Holiday Season came to a close last January, we at Columbia City SGA realized that the spirit giving to our local Rainier Valley Food Bank was important not just through the holidays, but year-round for food-insecure families and individuals. That's why we initiated $2 Tuesdays.

Food Bank Donation Bin Awaiting your Donations - Fill 'er up!

Summer Camps... Summer Workout Schedules... Parents' Night Out...

Our popular Indoor Playground costs $6 per child, or just $4 with a prepaid punch card, but each week on Tuesdays, each child may enter for a $2 donation to the Rainier Valley Food Bank, paid by cash or check, and one canned or boxed food item. All the money and food donations go to the Rainier Valley Food Bank. As of this writing, in just 4 months, we've raised $711 and donated pounds and pounds of canned and boxed food items! Here are some examples of food to donate: Canned vegetables and fruits, or meats such as chicken, tuna or salmon; Hearty meat soups and stews; Dried or canned beans; Peanut butter; Rice and pasta; Pancake and baking mixes; Oatmeal; Granola and energy bars; Dried fruits; Ensure and other nutritional supplement drinks; And especially important year round: infant formula and diapers of all sizes. The Rainier Valley Food Bank provides food assistance to low-income residents in southeast Seattle, with a focus on seniors, families, individuals with disabilities, and the homeless. No one who meets our broad criteria for assistance is turned away from the food bank. Our mission is to provide healthy food to our hungry neighbors.
