Check out my Dragon Breeding guide to learn the different combinations and formula to create the dragon that you are looking for.

Dragon City Battles

At the time of writing, there are two battle modes available. Stadium fights and Combat world. Both have the same concept that you will use your dragons out for battle for gold and other items. The basic detail of battling can be found in Dragon City Combat Guide. In a nutshell, your dragons have 4 battle moves similar to Pokemon. These moves can have different elemental stats related to them. These element can be effective and deal more damage, or be non effective and deal 1/2 damage. In general, higher HP dragons have low attack, and high attack dragons have low HP.

The Best Dragons in Dragon City

The best dragon to use at the beginning of the game is Earth dragon because of its ability to generate gold revenue fast compared to all of the beginner dragons. However, if you play on and off throughout the day, you should consider using water element because their Habitat has one of the most gold capacity. For battling, the best Dragon for you to use at this point is Legendary ranked dragons. The legendary status has no elemental weakness and they are typically stronger than the rest of the dragons. .

Basic Dragon City Building Overview

In this section of our beginner guide, we will go over some of the buildings to get you started in the game. Hatchery: This is the basic and the initial building that you will have in the game. You need the Hatchery to hatch your Dragon eggs. Upgrading the Dragon City hatchery will increase the number of eggs in the queue to be hatched. Habitat: The habitats will host your Dragons in the game. The dragons will earn various Gold revenue based on their type, element, and growth level. Upgrading the habitat will increase the numbers of the Dragons that can be housed, as well as the maximum gold capacity. Farm: The farm is the main food generation building in the game, you will spend some gold to earn Food over a period of time. Higher level farms can have more options for you to make the food. However, the fastest way to generate food is through lower level farming. However, if you do not play often or continuously, you want to upgrade your Dragon City Farms to have more food making options. Boost: The boost building can increase the revenue generation speed of your dragons in certain Habitats. Breeding: The breeding buildings in the game include breeding mountain and ultra breeding tree. You will need the breeding building in Dragon City to breed your own dragons. Special Buildings: The game offers three types of specialty buildings that require your neighbors or Facebook friends to grant you the rewards. Recruitment taverns rewards you with special dragon eggs. Dragon Market grant you either gold and food. And Stadium let you fight with your Dragons in Dragon City battles. Temples: The temples are necessary toward the end of the game when you want to increase your revenue and level of dragons further. The building of temples will increase and raise the level cap for you in Dragon City. Magic Temple at level 20 can raise the level cap of Dragons to 15. The Noble temple at level 25 can raise the level cap of your Dragons to level 20.

Dragon City Land Expansions

To expand for extra building area in Dragon City is pretty straight forward. You can either spend Gem to purchase land area instantly, or have enough neighbors and purchase the land with gold. Either way, you will have to expand the land in Dragon City sooner or later to have more land area for various buildings.

Dragon City Combat World Tournament Guide

August 14, 2012

Fighting in Combat World in Dragon City is one of the free way to earn some Dragon City Gems. In this guide, we will go over useful information and tips on how to master the game of Combat worlds. If you have found the Dragon City Combat world guide helpful, please check out the rest of our Dragon City guides.

Combat World Overview

The Combat World is a feature of Dragon City that let you fight through tiers of different dragons in the game. The stage selection appears to be semi random but will move up as you progress through the game, with the higher level stages being harder with stronger enemies. The Combat World in Dragon City has a 12 hours cooldown for each tournament attempted. This means that you will have the cooldown regardless of whether you win or lose. Thus, make sure that you are on a good internet connection and good computer running condition. If your internet loses connection or Dragon City browser crashes during the tournament, you lose out the combat world tournament attempt. When you win the combat world tournament, you will win 2 Dragon City gems, regardless of the level that you are on right now.

Dragon City Combat World Stages

This list will help you to determine the type of dragon to bring to the game. However, this list is only really helpful at the beginning and mid part of the game before you get your Legendary and Pure level dragons. Use our Dragon City breeding guide to learn how to get these. Before you head into combat world battles, use the list to bring appropriate dragons into the battle field can hugely improve your chances of winning the combat world challenges in Dragon City. Combat World Stages and Good Dragon to Bring The Combat World have different tournaments that are noted by the type. Below is a list of dragons in general that you should bring to the fights. Please note that this list is not 100% of the time, but should act as a really good estimate based on Dragon City combat strength and weakness. Level 3: Level 15~25. Level 4: Level 20~30.

Final Words on Winning Combat World

Although this Combat World stage list can be helpful in the beginning of the Dragon City game, it becomes quite useless once you have obtained a full team of legendary or higher generation of dragons. The higher ranked dragons have higher health points as well as stronger attacks. With the introduction of Dragon City Dragon Training Center, beating Combat World has become even easier. Just spend the time and effort to get yourself a legendary dragon team via breeding. Train each one of them with the strongest legendary attack. Level up all of the dragons to the max allowed by your levels and temples. Clearing the Dragon City Combat world stages should be easy fights for you with the above mentioned setup. The best dragon to use will always be the highest ranked with the highest level. Higher level Dragons have higher attack and HP. It should be noted that as more dragons are introduced in the future updates of Dragon City, we believe that this pattern should not change.

First of all, at the time of writing, there is no defense implemented in the game. All dragons will deal similar amount of damage regardless of their levels. However, the different breeds of dragons will have different skills, weakness and resistance based on their element, and different health. Generally speaking, high attack dragons have low health points, and high health dragons in Dragon City will have low attack.

Inflicted Attack Effects

The effect is based on the weakness and resistance of the element for different Dragon City moves. The damage can be divided into the following categories: Critical (super effective): 2X damage Normal: 1X damage Weak: 1/2 damage No effect: 0X damage

Dragon City Habitat Guide

June 4, 2012

Dragon City Habitats are important because they can house your Dragons and provide you with gold. In this guide, we will go over some basic information about the Dragon City habitats and provide a chart for you to compare and select the best Habitat for your beloved dragons. If you have found this guide helpful, please check out the rest of our Dragon City guides.

Dragon City Habitat Basic

As you level up in the game, you will receive more available slots to build habitats. You will want to build as many habitats as possible to maximize the amount of gold generated in Dragon City. The habitats are divided into several elemental categories based on their type. Different types of habitats have different numbers of Dragons that they can house, as well as different gold capacities. It should be noted that Dragon City hybrid dragon breeds can live in either of the habitats based on their element, unlock Dragon City combats where hybrids will take their first element as the main element. You can upgrade first level habitats into large habitats without taking down the original habitats. However, you will still have to pay the gold to upgrade the habitat. The large habitats will require more land area than the original smaller habitats.

Dragon City Complete Dragon Breeding Guide

June 3, 2012

Dragon breeding is a unique part of the game play in Dragon City. However, it is hard to figure out how to breed what without the formula. In this guide, we will provide some formulas and tutorials on how to breed the dragons that you love and use in Dragon City. Please share this guide with your Dragon City and facebook friends if you have found it helpful. Lastly please check out the rest of our Dragon City guides.

Basic Dragon Breeding Information

The basic of Dragon City breeding is taught during tutorial. You will first have to level up your dragon via feeding to at least level 4. Build a building ground such as Breeding Mountain or Breeding Tree, then you can select which of the dragon that you would like to breed. It will take some time for the dragons to create the eggs and even more time for the eggs to hatch. The types of offspring is dependent on the parents. In addition, there is some sort of luck involved in breeding that you may not get the dragon you are looking for 100% of the time.

When you first start the game, we recommend you to start from generation 1 and breed a couple high generation dragons. However, slow down on the Pure Dragon breeding (We label it generation 4 and 4.5) because the long breeding time can hinder your game play.

Basic Breeding Dragons

To start breeding the dragons, you must first have these basic building blocks. You must purchase these dragons from eggs because you do not have the parents to generate and mate for these basic dragons. Nature Dragon Flame Dragon Terra Dragon Sea Dragon Electric Dragon Ice Dragon Metal Dragon Dark Dragon

Generation 1 Breeding Dragons

Below is a complete list of Rank 1 dragons that you can build by using single step from the basic dragons in Dragon City. The dragons may be repeated in each of the subsection simply for your own convenience. The order at which you input the dragons for breeding does not affect the egg outcome. It is all pretty much based on luck and luck only.

We have used () to note the basic building block for the specific Generation 1 dragons for your convenience. Mud (Terra+ Sea ) + Dark = Poo. Armadillo can also obtained through: medieval + alpine, pearl + alpine, jade+star, Zombie + Mud, and Pearl + flaming rock dragon Gummy can also be obtained through: Firebird + fluorecent, firebird + star, Jade + star, and neon + nenufar Pirate can also be bred from: Rattlesnake + lanternfish and neon + cloud It should be additionally noted that Medieval + Alpine dragon is one of the best dragon breeding formula in Dragon City because of its ability to bred different types of hybrid rares.

Generation 3 Dragon Breeding Legendary

The dragon breeding list for the legendary rank is well, pretty rare. You really have to rely heavily on your luck to get a shot at landing these dragons. Because the type of elements associated with these rare breeds are quite complex, we do not have the exact formula for these Dragon City breeds yet. Legendary Dragon Cool Fire Dragon + Soccer Dragon Crystal Dragon Coolfire + Soccer Mirror Dragon Gummi Dragon + Cool Fire Dragon Wind Dragon Gummi Dragon + Cool Fire Dragon, Soccer + CoolFire

Generation 4 and 5 Pure Dragon Breeding The Pure Dragons

The pure dragon in Dragon City is the latest update that uses all the legendary dragons that you have gotten. Some people also call the Pure dragon the Unicorn dragon, because it looks like a unicorn. However, the actual name on Dragon City is the Pure Dragon. This category of dragon has its own habitat of the Pure and Pure elements. Below is how you can obtain these pure dragons in Dragon City. We have intentionally separated the ranking generation of Pure and Pure Element. You will need Pure Dragon before you can start breeding the Pure Elements, thus effectively make the Pure Elements one generation after the Dragon City Pure Dragon. It should be noted again that the breeding chance of Pure Dragon is not 100%. Based on our brief tests, we estimate the chance of breeding the Pure Dragon to be roughly 30~50% or even lower. There is a chance to have a result of any possible dragon combination when you breed two legendary dragon together. Generation 4 The Pure Dragon Pure Dragon Any breeding combination from legendary status dragons Legendary, Crystal, Mirror, Wind. For example, Legendary + Crystal, Crystal + Mirror, and Generation 5 The Pure Element Dragons After you have obtained the Pure dragons, you can use the Dragon City pure dragon to breed the Pure element dragons with their elemental counterparts. Below is a list of all these pure elemental dragons. Pure Plant = Pure Dragon + Plant Dragon Pure Fire = Pure Dragon + Fire Dragon Pure Earth = Pure Dragon + Earth Dragon Pure Water = Pure Dragon + Water Dragon Pure Electric = Pure Dragon + Electric Dragon Pure Ice = Pure Dragon + Ice Dragon Pure Metal = Pure Dragon + Metal Dragon Pure Dark = Pure Dragon + Dark Dragon Special Advice on Pure Dragon Breeding and Hatching Time: The pure dragons breeding combination takes a whopping 48 hours to complete. The hatching of any pure dragon City dragons also takes 48 hours. Together the pure dragon breeding and hatching time adds up to 96 hours which is 4 days. Before you start breeding these, make sure that you have enough dragons as backup because they will take up your breeding and hatching queue. Putting your available legendary dragons into breeding places will make them unable to battle for that initial 2 days.

Deus Vault The Unique Dragon Research

After a long time, Dragon City has finally gotten some nifty new updates that can keep all the players busy. At the time of updating the Dragon City Breeding guide, only unique dragons from the past are currently available in the Deus Vault. We expect completely unique dragons to be available in the future.

To breed the Dragon City unique dragons, you WILL have to do the research first to obtain the formula. As it seems that Socialpoint is still fine tuning the cost of these research. Once you have completed the research, you will obtain the secret dragon breeding formulas to breed unique dragons. However, we have provided the following unique dragon breeding combos to help you get started even before you obtain the right research. Like all of the available dragon breeding recipes listed in this guide. These combos are not 100%. Depending on the different unique dragon breeds, we estimate the chances to be roughly 15%~25%. This means that you may still have to do a couple of tries before you can get the unique dragons. MAKE SURE YOU DO THE RESEARCH before attempting these breeding combos. Breed attempts without the proper research done has 0% chance of succeeding. Please note that we have opt out to put research cost of these associated unique dragon breeds. We expect the price to fluctuate a bit during their A/B testing. Your best bet is to buy and complete any Deus Vault unique dragon research if they are available in gold. Dujur Dragon Coolfire + Electric Queen = Medieval + Nenufar Viking = Coolfire + Icecube Plankton = Coral + Cactus Aztec = Tropical + Spicy Fossil = Dark + Ice Bat = Venom + Armadillo Seahorse Lantern Fish + Dandelion King = Medieval + Hot Metal Sky = Laser + Blizzard

Notes: Dragon City Opposing Element Breeding

In this list that we have provided, there are some breeds that include elements that are opposed to each other. This means that you cannot normally breed them directly. However, you can use hybrid dragons that contain the opposing elements to breed the hybrid dragons. Because hybrid is used in the breeding process, this means that you will not be able to get the dragon that you want 100% of the time, so just keep on trying until you breed the Dragon City dragons that you need!

Notes: Dragon City Breeding Rarity Booster

Just in the past week of October, the Dragon City developer has opened a new feature named the Breeding Rarity Booster which can be used to boost your breeding chances. Based on some preliminary testing on our part, we have determined the rate to be roughly twice of its original breeding chance. This means that if you have roughly 30% chance at getting legendary ranked dragons, with the rarity booster you will have doubled that amount at 60%. However, with the same reasoning, the effect of rarity booster is really limited when it comes to Pure and Pure Element combinations. We estimate the chance of breeding the Pure ranked dragons at about 5~10%. Which means that the Rarity booster really only effectively gives you 5%~10% more (nevertheless it still doubles the chance which helps you get them twice as fast, or even faster).

Please note that we do not have the exact % of breeding chances, we simply observe that the Rarity booster is dependent on the original rare chance. Gamelytics verdict on Dragon Breed Rarity Booster: It will be a better investment into breeding trees if you have not done so. Save your precious gems for the special event dragons instead of pushing for higher breeding success chance via the Rarity booster. When you get to a later level, there is much left to do except to collect the event dragons while letting your Dragon breeding schedule run.

Notes: Update for Dragon Breeding Times

In the past week or so, Social Point seems to be running some testing by assigning different breeding times for the dragons. This test now seems to have been rolled out to the majority of the players which we now call it a breeding time update. Before the update, the breeding time is purely based upon the parents of the dragon pair. With this update, the Dragon City breeding time is now directly related to how rare the egg hybrid offspring is. For example, legendary and pure level eggs can take up to 24~48 hours for breeding. For the generation 1~2 hybrids can generally take 4~16 hours. This update is good in a way that you can get more breeding tries within shorter period of time. This means that if you play consistently throughout the day, you can get your rares faster within shorter time frame. Failed non-rare eggs will simply take shorter breeding time.

Dragon City Dragon Training Center Guide

July 27, 2012

The Dragon City Dragon Training Center is the latest addition to the Dragon City game to make your dragons stronger than ever with trained skills. We at gamelytic have put together some tips for you to make the best use of the new Dragon City Dragon Training Center. If you have found this Dragon City guide useful, please be sure to check out the rest of our great Dragon City guides written to help you in the game.

Basic Dragon Training Center Information

The Dragon Training Center is available to those players that are level 20+. It takes 500k Dragon City gold and requires 6 hours to be built. Once built, it will give you 20k experience points in Dragon City. Once you have completed the Dragon Training Center, you can start putting your dragons in for training new skills.

Dragon Training Center Skill Training

Depending on the types of dragon breeds in Dragon City, different skill can be trained. The dragons must be level 15+ or higher to be taken into training. The skill training time takes 24~48 hours depending on the type of skill it is. You can only put one dragon into skill training at Dragon Training Center at a time.

Once you get to the skill training menu in Dragon City, you will pick the skills. When you pick the skill that you want to be swapped, note the tooltip which gives you information about how much more damage the new skill will do over the ones that you want to replace. In general, all the new skills available in Dragon Training Center will do significantly more damage than the default skills.

Training and Dragon down time

When you have your dragon in training at the Dragon City Dragon Training Center, you cannot use your dragon for breeding or to select them for battling. Thus, it is smart to have a couple of dragon substitutes so that you can continue the battle in Combat world and tournaments. The down time is determined by the skill training time of the dragon.

Is Dragon Training Center Worthwhile

Because the damage increase offered by trained skills is significantly than their default counterpart, you should train your Dragon City dragons with Dragon Training Center skills as soon as you have it unlocked. With the improved new skills, the trained dragon will outshine the same level counterparts and potentially beat the ones that outlevel it. Thus, start training early and make sure that every dragon in your team has at least one new skill from the Dragon Training Center.

How to Get Butterfly Dragon and Other Dragon Spell Dragons

You can get all of the dragons except for Dragon City butterfly dragon via Dragon City Breeding function.

Dragon Spell Game Detail

The Dragon Spell game in Dragon City started on 8/3 at 4:00 a.m. You can take a spell draw via the following options: Low Chance: FREE Medium Chance: 50k Gold 100% Chance: 20 Gem Every time you take a Dragon Spell attempt draw, it requires a 6 hours cool down which takes 20 gem to instantly complete. You have a timer of 2 days and 12 hours to complete which is 60 hours total assuming that you started playing as soon as the Dragon Spell event in Dragon City started.

Dragon Spell Chance Estimate

Below is only my estimate of the success chances based on the different options. Because the time and trial is quite limited, they may not be accurate. Please leave comments on what you think. Low Chance has about 10~20% dragon spell chance. Medium Chance has about 40~60% dragon spell. 100% Chance is well 100%

Get Butterfly Dragon Analysis

With 60 hours in Dragon City Spell game play, you can have a total of 9 optimal spell draw attempts assuming that you do not use the instant finish. (This assumes that you will have some time gap between you start the game and finish). In reality you should more or less have about 6~7 draws depending on your real life cycles. Scenario 1: Use Dragon City gems for 100% draw and instant cooldown to get butterfly dragon. If you play optimally, it will cost you 20 x 10 draws plus either 1~3 instant complete which equal 200 Dragon City gem + 20 to 60 gems. This means that it will cost you from 220 to 260 gems to get the butterfly dragon. Scenario 2: Use Medium Draws plus instant cooldown plus 100% draw. In this scenario, you will use medium draw until the last minute to get your Butterfly dragon. Lets assume you can pull off 8 draws with gold only which will net you 4 spell books in most chances. You will need to use 6 cooldown and 6 100% chance draw which is equal to 12* 20 gems = 240 gems. However, if you are lucky you can get more spell books during the initial draw, or if you are not lucky you will not get as many. Thus if you use this method, you will spend roughly 180 gems (lucky) to 360 gems (not lucky) to get the Butterfly dragon.

Verdict on how to get Butterfly Dragon: If you are serious about collecting all the dragons in Dragon City, simply use the 100% chance draw plus some instant cool down to get the butterfly Dragon. The gamble may not worth it for you to use the medium chances. Avoid Low Chance draw at all cost.

Hatchery can increase the amount of eggs that you can hatch in the game. This is especially important later on in the game when you are going after more rare dragons. Because Dragon City Breeding does not guarantee 100% breeding chance of getting rare dragons. Thus you will have more eggs that will be queued for hatching.

Ultra Breeding Tree

Dragon City Ultra Breeding Tree is another good investment because it reportedly can increase your chance at breeding more rare and legendary dragons. However, this claim has not been thoroughly tested yet. But it is better to be safe to spend your Dragon City gems at places where it can truly make a difference. Having higher chance at breeding legendary dragon can lead you to your goals faster. In addition, it is good to have multiple breeding grounds as well so you can double the chances at getting your Dragons.
