Possible Problems/Ways to address them

At a Level 0, sitting up straight, I want you to think about and write down two truths and one lie about yourself that are school appropriate and you feel comfortable sharing with the class. You will have one minute to think and two minutes to write down your truths and lies and we will then share out as a class. When we share out the expectation is that everyone is respectfully listening at level 0, if you have a question for the person presenting please write it on a post-it and I will give you time to ask your questions. When we are guessing on the truths it is extremely important that we are not shouting out so we will hold up our fingers you will hold up a 1 if you think that 1 is the lie, 2 if you think that 2 is the lie, and 3 if you think that 3 is the lie. Each student will have one minute to share out. The teacher will go first to model.
Students shouting out-Let students know that if they follow the procedure for the game effectively they will get five points. Students taking too long to share-Let students know that they only have one minute to share out so they have to be quick. Students who are not engaging-Let students know that their five points is based on if everyone is engaged and participating. Use proximity with students who are not. Students being disrespectful- Use appropriate BMC and narration.

Team Building Activity #2 Guess Who Students will be given a card that they will have to fill out with their name, favorite food, favorite TV show, favorite book genre, and favorite store to shop in. Teacher will collect the cards, shuffle them, and place them into a basket. Teacher will then draw a card randomly and read off the card without revealing the students name. If anything on the card applies to other students they will stand up if not they will sit down or stay seated. Students will have to guess who the card is about based on those students who are still standing.
