11) An ideal gas initially in a piston cylinder assembly at 1.5bar and 0.2m3. the gas is first heated at constant pressure until the volume is doubled. It is then allowed to expand isothermally until the volume is again doubled. Determine the work done by the gas during the process and plot the process on a p-v diagram. The initial temperature is 300k for the gas. (16) (0r) 12) In a Steam power station, steam flows steadily through a 0.2m diameters pipeline from the boiler to the turbine, at the boiler end, the steam conditions are found to be p=4Mpa; t = 400c; h =3213.6 kJ/kg and v =0.073m3/kg. At the turbine and, the conditions are found to be p =35Mpa; t =392c, h =3202.6 kJ/kg. And v =0.084m3. There is a heat loss of 8.5 kJ/kg from the pipe line. Calculate steam flow state.
