Gelido, RN Currents Trends, Issues and Concerns in Nursing Nursing Roadmap The Vision, Mission and Objective 2030: As an End: Every Filipino Nurse ideally must own the VMO 2030. To achieve this end, however, entails series of activities and tasks. Hence, VMO 2030 must be viewed as a process as well. As a Process: The BON convenes Filipino Nurses in education, practice and welfare to achieve the professions objective. The nursing issues and concerns in Nursing profession are lack of Unified Leadership, Lack of management skills of nurses, lack of integrated National data Based nursing Human Resource, Deterioration in the quality of Nursing Education and Practice, Weak link with Policy-making Body, Misdistribution/shortage of Competent Nurses, threatened Autonomy of Regulatory Bodies and No representation in international agreement. The Nursing roadmap must be based on these concerns. The big question is How will the nursing profession hurdle the present organizational challenge in moving the nursing profession Roadmap forward? We are trying to handle a big challenge that only the ones who cared enough in our profession can make this happen. I am one of the many hopefuls that our profession will be in the top of all other professions today. We are gathered to care and save many lives. We all can make a difference. As we all know not all of us are motivated to enrolled in nursing, some of us are just the sons and daughters of doctors, some may be just because of peer pressure and others just want to have a better future. Not all of us really want to a Nurse, a passionate individual who can care and save the lives of the humanity along with other health care team. So before we start to implement this roadmap, we should see to it that in the first phase of development the majority of population that taking up nursing profession should know the essence of being a Nurse. Character building and attitude enhancement should be at the first place. The students who are enrolled in nursing profession should be passionate and has the endeavor to make this dreams come true. Not just to become a success in this field but also being a globally competitive and a role model of all Nurses. By this, students who enrolled in this field will be the ones who are really born for this profession. They are the fruit of the crop; the ones filled with interpersonal skills and attitude wit enough knowledge to pursue this

profession at the very end. Along with the other process in the nursing roadmap, further screening of the enrollees will also be properly implemented to achieve the VMO of the Nursing Roadmap. To be a success in every goal, you should always start at the beginning. Butterflies are not created by pasting wings on caterpillarsthis only creates dysfunctional caterpillars. Butterflies are created through transformation.
