Meditation Group Led by

Cheryl Hagar Babers
Ive got a peaceful, easy feeling -The Eagles Who doesnt need a little more peace and clarity in their week... particularly on a Monday? Look no further than our Meditation Group which meets on Monday nights at the home of Cheryl Babers Hagar, the groups meditation leader. Cheryl describes the typical meeting: We start promptly at 7:10 with 12 minutes of Kirtan Kriya meditation technique that has been shown to improve cognitive function. Then we share 20 minutes of silence. You don't have to practice a certain style of meditation to participate. Beginners are welcome! This time together has become a time to actively participate in bringing more peace to the world and to develop closer relationships and a support system. If youre interested in joining the Meditation Group for some direction in beginning your journey to greater realized peace, or perhaps you are an old pro who would enjoy the group experience, contact Cheryl at salinebabers@att.net for their next meeting information and directions to her home. Note: Meditation Group meetings will not be held on May 20th or 27th, but will resume on June 3rd.

If youve taken a look at the calendar on the UUFW website youve likely seen it reliably scheduled every month on a Saturday, its The Vegetarian Potluck. Cheryl reflects on some things theyve done in the past and what you can expect when you come share their table: "In March we had a "theme" for the potluck: vegan and gluten free. In April the "theme" was Greek. Yummy! It's nice to share recipes too. Check out the pictures on the website www.meetup.com/WacoVegetarians-Meetup-Group. By the way, you don't have to be a vegetarian to come to these potlucks and share some wonderful vegetarian meals! And you don't have to be a member of UUFW to come. We've actually attracted some visitors from the greater community because of the Meetup group - YEA!" A healthy diet today recommends that we eat between 6 and 8 servings of fruits and vegetable a day. Why not try the next Potluck and introduce yourself to some new delectable ways to help you meet your nutrition goals. Cheryl also reminds us that we can shop for locally produced fruits and vegetables every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Waco Downtown Farmers Market at 400 South University Parks Drive.
