5th Annual Sustainability Summit

On October 3 and 4, 2013, Sustainable Cleveland 2019 will host the 5th annual Sustainability Summit at Cleveland Public Auditorium. Sustainable Cleveland 2019 was founded in 2009 by Mayor Frank G. Jackson to build an economic engine to empower a green city on a blue lake. The ten-year initiative creates a framework for Clevelanders from all walks of life to work together to build a thriving and resilient Cleveland region. Celebration Years: Mayor Jackson hosts an annual Sustainability Summit to report progress to the community, create an agenda for the future and co-create our sustainable future. This Summit marks the halfway point of the ten-year initiative. Each year leading up to 2019, Cleveland will celebrate a sustainability topic. 2013 is the Year of Advanced and Renewable Energy and 2014 will be the Year of Zero Waste. Summit Topics: The Summit will focus on the current and upcoming celebration year topics Advanced and Renewable Energy and Zero Wasteas well as the Community Climate Action Plan, which incorporates the topics of Energy Efficiency, Water and Land Use, Community Engagement, and Transportation. The Summit is a unique opportunity to work across sectors, foster collaboration, learn about recent innovations and design the future of the Cleveland region. www.SustainableCleveland.org
