CHAPTER I COURSE DESCRIPTION LEN is delivered to regular students (Program A) in the first semester with 2 theory credits. This subject is a part of basic nursing sciences. It is focused on the values adopted for clients and healthcare professionals, ethics and code of ethics of nursing, nursing practice standards, ethical decision making, health law, consumer protection laws, medical records, confidential positions, informed consent and malpractice. The learning process using the lecture method, group discussion, and problem solving
The course conducts in English version and uses student active learning approach. Students activity during the learning process is a compulsory. A various learning method is used in this course such as lectures, discussions, Project Based Learning (PJBL), and presentation. The students are also required to do individual or group of assignments. The whole process will be evaluated through written examination and assignments.

PROJECT BASED LEARNING (PJBL) WORKSHEET 1. What are the purposes : The students will be able to Apply Ethics concepts of nursing through a scenario case / trigger approach for problem solving. Apply a Legal Nursing Law through a scenario case / trigger approach for problem solving. 2. How to do the project : There are four steps to do a project and the students must through all the phases 2.1Step 1 : Individual Task (independent) 1. The students read the case / trigger 2. The students search and study literature based on the given trigger 2.2Step 2 : First Group Discussion (independent) 1. Based on the case/trigger, The students in a group should discuss : a. Application of problem solving for standard practice of nursing and health law regulation b. Application of problem solving for dilemma ethics c. Application of problem solving for malpractice negligence d. Application of problem solving for pasif and actif euthanasia 2. Self study : a. The students search for literature related to first discussion individually (text book, journal, and research articles according to Legal Ethic of Nursing.

b. Each of the students prepares an academic hand-writing report based on analysis and synthesis on the literatures. The students submit the report to the facilitators on second discussion as INDIVIDUAL PROJECT. 2.3Step 3 : Second Discussion 1. Facilitator will randomly choose a student to present his/her report to the group. 2. The students who do not present the report should ask a question or answer to the questions of other students. 3. The students make a report on the second discussion result as GROUP PROJECT and announce later.

a. Principle: evaluation refers to the achievement of learning objectives and outcomes of the assessment process b. Assessment consists of: Exam Write: Exam I 35% 30 & Exam II Group discussion: 10% Individual and group task: 25% Final Score = (average test score x 65%) + (average value of Group discussion X 25%) + (Individual and group task x 10%) 100
