Activity I
Now that you have finished following the Scripture Memorization System audio book and ebook, it is finally time to put all your knowledge to practice.
Do you remember in Chapter Four-I when you were introduced to the Scripture Memorization System for the first time? The first crucial step of that system is to train your brain or your mind to think in terms of pictures. If you can do that, then you are halfway towards achieving your ultimate goal of being able to memorize Scripture.
Lets do a brief review. In Chapter Four-I, you were asked to enter a room that you are most familiar with, which most of the time happens to befor many of us, at leastour own private bedroom. Then the Scripture Memorization System instructed you to assign a number to each item in order from 1 to 10 as you scan the room from left to right while standing in the doorway.
But in this workbook, were going to do things a little differently. This time, we will use a different room from the one you are already most familiar with.
Step 1.
Go to any room in your house besides the one you are already most familiar with.
It can be the living room, the kitchen, the garage, or your little brothers room. Even if this room isnt your own private room, you are expected to be at least somewhat familiar with it, since you more or less enter or do activities in this room every day.
Page 2
mindfully, scan the items in the room starting from your left going to your right.
Step 3.
As you scan the items from left to right, take note of each item in succession by
writing them down in the space provided below. Make sure the items are listed in order as you see them going from left to write, standing from the doorway.

the order of items in the room from left to right. Make sure to review the list fully and extensively. Silently in your head, try to recall and then recite each item in the list. If you make even just one mistake, go back and recite it again from scratch.
Step 5.
Now in the space provided below, list down the same 10 items but this time from
bottom to top, or from right to left as they appeared in the room. This is to test if you have truly memorized the list of items by heart. No cheating!

Step 7.
If you miss even just a single item, go back and review your original list and then
try again from scratch. The catch here is for you to memorize the 10 items in any order, and be able to list them down again in any order without making a single mistake.
Step 8.
Finished with perfect scores? Pat yourself on the back for a job well done! On to

Now we shall put the Scripture Memorization System to the test creating your own Scripture Memorization System to memorize actual Bible verses.
In the audio book and e-book, you were taught how to use the Scripture Memorization System to to memorize the Psalm 150, which is relatively short, compared to other verses found within the pages of the Bible. But this time, in this workbook, you will be challenged to create your own Scripture Memorization System in order to memorize a much longer section: the first chapter of the Book of Genesis.
Now this is the reason why its very important that you have mastered the previous lesson of training your mind to think in pictures, because it will surely come in very handle this time.
Lets begin.
Step 1.
If you look at the entire Chapter 1 of the Genesis, youve got to admit that it is
pretty lengthy. One way to guide you through the whole process of memorizing it is taking note of the order in which God created everything in six days (God rested on the seventh day). By using Gods creations in each day as markers or pegs, it becomes much easier to visualize the entire first chapter of the Genesis in its entirety.

1st day. Day and night 2nd day. ________________________ 3rd day. ________________________ 4th day. ________________________ 5th day. Birds and sea creatures 6th day. ________________________
Step 3.
Keep reviewing the list until you can recite all the items in it out loud without
committing a single mistake regardless of whether the list is rearranged in ascending, descending, or completely random order.

would help you recall whatever it is that God created that day, and thus gain an idea of your exact location within the entire chapter. All of these little things will help you remember the Bible verses and therefore, eventually, memorize it by heart.
Below each creation is a space where you can write what object, person or place you wish to associate to Gods creation within a certain day. Again, some have been filled up to guide you.
1st day. Day and night light and darkness; black and white 2nd day. ________________________ _____________________________________________________ 3rd day. ________________________ _____________________________________________________ 4th day. ________________________ _____________________________________________________ 5th day. Birds and animals a giant whale and a talking parrot 6th day. ________________________ _____________________________________________________

a single mistake, in both ascending and descending orders, or even when mixed up in random order. Associate the items you attached to each creation to encourage your mind to think in pictures.
Step 7.
Now you are ready to memorize Scripture. Read aloud and memorize the verses
connected to the images in your list. Keep reading and reciting until the words of the verse have to your heart and mind. For instance, the first item in your list is light and darkness; black and white", referring to day and night. Genesis 1:1-5 reads: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. Do the same for the 2nd day, the 3rd day, the 4th and so on.
It is a bit difficult at first but you need to trust the system, and eventually things will get much easier as you get used to the Scripture Memorization System over time.
CONGRATULATIONS! You have just successfully memorized your first Bible chapter, and no other than the first chapter of the Book of Genesis. Continue to put your faith and trust in God that, along with the Scripture Memorization System, He will guide you as brave forward to learn the rest of His teachings that can be found within the pages of the Holy Bible.
