developing lectures based on text and creating supplemental teaching materials
to present comprehensive overview.
Used writing and research assignments to involve students, including successful
project to research and choose 100 most notable Americans from 1901-2000.
Developed rapport with students, identifying good points of assignments and
projects and then explaining areas for improvement.
Incorporated video, open discussions, and PowerPoint presentations into lectures,
emphasizing civility, sensitivity, and tolerance of opinions during interactive
classes.
Instructed 30 students in Western Civilization class, implementing interactive
group assignments that required students to research and expand on available
information to justify historical choices.
Incorporated letters written by ordinary citizens in Modern American History
course with 20 students to bring historical perspective closer to average people.
