XXX Team Leader XXX Centre Job Description The team Leader will initially be responsible to the Head

of Rehabilitation Services and eventually to the Rehabilitation Operations Manager, XXX. The principle functions of the Team Leader will fall into the following categories:Rehabilitation Casework a) b) c) d) Hold a small rehabilitation/mobility caseload including more complex cases and keep accurate records. (See attached Rehabilitation Worker job description.) Keep abreast of current trends and new information on the specialism. Maintain knowledge of and liaise with other organisations both national and local. Develop good working relationships with other voluntary agencies and colleagues in the Local Authority and Health Services.

Managing a Rehabilitation Service a) b) c) d) e) f) g) h) i) j) k) Monitor referrals, waiting lists and activity levels and prepare reports as required. Be responsible for all referrals made to the Team and make sure that the Service Level Agreement response time is met. Develop close links with colleagues within Borough of XXX and Health services and attend meetings as required. Be responsible for operational changes to service deliver in negotiation with XXX in response to changes in National Social Care policies. Ensure the smooth running of the XXX Clinic at the XXX Centre. Promote and deliver awareness training as appropriate, including Clinical Governance sessions for Ophthalmology personnel. Respond to complaints in a timely way following XXX and XXX protocols. Make sure good standards of practice are met and maintained. Be responsible for the allocation and closure of all casework. Be responsible for organising duty cover. Supervise and support team members; undertake an individual Annual Review and monitor objectives with all team including:Rehabilitation Workers, Volunteer Coordinator, Team Administrator, Low Vision Administrator and Project workers. l) Motivate team members and together discuss and introduce new initiatives for the benefit of service users.

Co-ordinate staff inductions and on going training. Monitor individual staff performance and take appropriate action where necessary. Be responsible for team meetings and dissemination of information to team members. Ensure all team members have the opportunity to update their skills and knowledge. Organise holiday leave so that there is at least 50% cover; monitor staff absence and expense claims. Ensure appropriate response to all Rehabilitation Team enquiries and referrals. Be responsible for ordering equipment and for stock control; check invoices and forward to accounts department for payment. Monitor the Centres budgets and maintain the petty cash records. Keep accurate records of all meetings.

w) Ensure health and safety issues are addressed. x) y) Support the rehabilitation service by co-working with Team Leader colleagues. Perform other relevant duties as required by the Chief Executive of the XXX.

Managing the XXX sight Centre A. To promote best use of XXX Centre to service users and local community. B. Ensure the health and safety of staff, volunteers and visitors to a busy building. C. Ensure maintenance of building and ground is completed to appropriate standard. D. Ensure cleanliness of building is maintained to appropriate standard. E. Ensure relationships with agencies and other XXX departments using XXX Centre remain professional and effective. F. Person Specification Essential Criteria Be able to demonstrate: Positive leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and encourage staff Knowledge of the issues affecting XXX people, and an understanding of the range of rehabilitation and other support available Knowledge of the Health and Social Care sector Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage a complex workload independently and effectively Excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to inspire and influence a wide range of audiences and to represent XXX at a senior level Competent IT skills, including the ability to be self-supporting in the use MS Office, Outlook, and Excel Commitment to XXXs aims and values, and to anti-discriminatory practice A good level of numeracy and sound basic finance skills Possession of a professional manner and flexible approach to working Ability to travel independently across the area of service A commitment to your own and others professional development

Desirable Criteria Foundation Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Rehabilitation Studies Knowledge of facilities management An understanding of Access database
