JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTABLE TO: MANAGES: DIRECTOR OF FUNDRAISING AND MARKETING Chief Executive Head of Fundraising Development, Head of Fundraising, Individuals Donors Manager, Press & PR Manager, Special Events Manager and Communications Officer xxx To manage the Fundraising Team and enable them to reach agreed income targets. To maintain and enhance the reputation of xxx Charity and maximise the use, image and development of the xxx brand. PRINCIPAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Take an active role in the Senior Management Team, ensuring that organisational strategy feeds into operational activity and that the organisation runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis. Lead on particular projects in agreement with the CEO. Develop, and with CEO approval, implement the fundraising and marketing strategy to meet income targets and raise awareness within agreed expenditure targets. Work closely with Trustees to ensure that they are kept up to date on fundraising and marketing activity and are aware of any relevant issues or circumstances. Encourage Trustees to take an active role in fundraising. Work closely with the Director of Care Services to ensure a constructive working relationship between the two teams and to maximise opportunities for fundraising and marketing. Alongside the CEO and Director of Finance monitor cash flow and performance against targets on a monthly basis, providing management information as required. Support the CEO as required and if requested deputise for them on occasion.

BASED AT: JOB PURPOSE:

Fundraising . Support the Fundraising Team to enable them to reach and exceed their annual fundraising targets and to develop long-term relationships with supporters. Lead on significant fundraising opportunities and those that involve a number of teams. Create a network of contacts and supporters to develop fundraising opportunities for xxx Lead on relationships with high net worth individuals in partnership with the CEO. Investigate, create and develop new unrestricted income streams. Ensure that fundraising activities are constantly reviewed, tested, assessed and improved through a programme of fundraising audits and analysis. Ensure all funding activities comply with charity law, tax, and other statutory requirements. Marketing Ensure the press office operates effectively, to both proactive and reactive opportunities.

Work with the Press & PR Manager to successfully communicate key messages to agreed target audiences. Write all generic copy for the organisation including leaflets, relevant website pages and editing of newsletters and e newsletters. Work with the Communications Officer to ensure consistency and co-ordination of messages and of brand image and identity. Ensure that all of xxxs external communications are of the highest quality. Identify, develop and promote new communications and marketing tools to further service fundraising objectives. Provide leadership in public relations, communications and marketing.

Management Other Ensure that all fundraising and marketing activities are carried out in harmony with the xxxs mission statement and to a high level of professionalism. Undertake additional tasks and projects that are relevant to the post as requested by the CEO. Provide positive leadership, management and development of the Fundraising team including their welfare, appraisal and training. Act as a reliable, available and interested line manager, holding regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports and providing support as required. Ensure the Fundraising Team remain motivated and are aware of their role within the organisation through regular away days and motivational activities. Remain aware of team income and expenditure at all times and provide feedback on variances against targets to colleagues and Trustees. Ensure there is successful two way communication between the Fundraising Team and Senior Management Team.
